Gmelina
Gmelina is a genus of plants in family Lamiaceae. It consists of about 35 species in Australia, New Guinea, Southeast Asia, India and a few in Africa. Some species such as G. arborea have been planted and/or become naturalised in India, Africa and Australia. It was named by Carl Linnaeus in honour of botanist Johann Georg Gmelin. In India, Gmelina arborea occurs extensively from the Ravi eastwards in the sub-Himalayan tracts, common throughout Assam and adjoining areas of northern West Bengal, also in southern Bihar and Odisha, sporadically found in western and southern India and planted elsewhere on a large scale. Gamhar most commonly occurs in West Bengal forests in mixed forests.Gmelina arborea timber is reasonably strong for its weight. It is used in constructions, furniture, carriages, sports, musical instruments and artificial limbs. Once seasoned, it is a very steady timber and moderately resistant to decay and ranges from very resistant to moderately resistant to termites.
Its timber is highly esteemed for door and window panels, joinery and furniture especially for drawers, wardrobes, cupboards, kitchen and camp furniture, and musical instruments because of its lightweight, stability and durability. It is also used for bentwood articles. In boat building it is used for decking and for oars. Gmelina arborea is a popular timber for picture and slate frames, turnery articles and various types of brush backs, brush handles and toys also for handles of chisels, files, saws, screw drivers, sickles etc. The wood is also used for manufacturing tea chests and general purpose plywood, blackboards, frame core and cross bands of flushdoor shutters. In the instrument industry gambhar timber is widely employed for the manufacture of drawing boards, plane tables, instrument boxes, thermometer scales and cheaper grade metric scales. It is also used in artificial limbs, carriages and bobbins. It is an approved timber for handles of tennis rackets, frames and reinforcements

If we assimilate the life as a huge river with rogue, endless waves, then some of us are standing on the steady, vast main land, some of us tried to enter the river and were dashed back to the main land by the waves later, some of us are still struggling to swim across the river, fighting the surge with our own strength, and only little of us has successfully swum across it, standing on the other shore, where others who have not ever been to there can tell nothing about.…

It was based of of the topic of slavery and how the north had little use for slavery well the south's whole economy was built off of it without it they would be nothing. There had been many activists against slavery but one book known as “Uncle Tom's Cabin” really lite up the eyes of the north and showed how bad they were being treated. Southerners knew how poorly they were treated but didn't do anything about it because their whole income was based off slavery and cash crops.…

Who runs the world? If you’re a male you would probably answer with bias and answer with males. If you’re a female you too may answer with bias and respond, women; if you’re a logical female you would answer with men. And why would you not? Men make more money in the work field, they’re less likely to be attacked or frightened when walking through an unfamiliar atmosphere. In many Middle Eastern countries men don’t earn respect, they’re given it. They get to go to school, be independent, and drive a car! And best part no child birth pains! This may come as a surprise but a longtime ago, men would’ve killed to birth a child, to be essential in the creating of life. They strived to achieve “The Life after Forever”. In the “Epic of Gilgamesh”, a man goes on a quest to find just that.…

Only after the idea was patented as a “Sackett Board”, which was a layer of thin plaster of Paris board (raw gypsum, chemically altered to remove water). By the 20th century gypsum became a huge mineral to create products out of. At times of war gypsum boards became popular, due to its fire- resistant qualities that other plaster boards didn’t have. Today gypsums main uses are still as a fire-resistant gypsum board, however gypsum is used for more than creating a roof over our heads. Gypsum is used as an additive for farmers to improve soils workability and to overcome corrosive effects of alkalinity. Along with farm work gypsum is used to help ponds relax dirt and clay particles without harming any aquatic life, by acting as an additive in turbid waters. Surprisingly gypsum is also used in orthopedic and surgical castings. It is also used as a main ingredient in…

Obstacles are to be expected when getting into a relationship, but what happens when you add current hardships going on in a community or era into the mix? Like it or not the time period and issues concerning ones community influence many of the interactions one may have with other people. During a time of starvation, many people forget about love and instead focus in getting food on the table. And during times of war, people will focus on remaining safe and alive. Many luxuries and feelings are left behind and this influences relationships between people. In the book Germinal, those of the lower class community had to deal with many discriminating factors in their daily lives. So much that common human nature was left forgotten in the past. Likewise, in the book Shosha, the Jewish community lived in terror and with a sense of hopelessness when it came to the future of their people. The relationship between Catherine and Etienne as well as Shosha and Aaron overcame many of the hardships presented to them, all except death. Although both these relationships had many similarities, they too had differences such as the intensity in which they portrayed their love. Aaron and Shosha appeared to have a stronger relationship because they were in love since childhood. Both romances could have ended differently but more so with the relationship between Etienne and Catherine.…

Once asked to explain herself, she blames it on “A Gallehault, that book and he who wrote it, too”. Refusing to take full responsibility for her actions, she notes that if it were not for the book or the author, the thought would have never crossed her mind to cheat on her husband. One could argue that Francesca simply lived in a time where marriages tended to bearranged, leaving her unhappy…
