Going To Failure In High School
As I sat in my first block class on that day and obtained the "A" honor roll certificate I was so proud of myself and had a strong feeling of success. I realized that others would mooch around and just get by, that is not what I wanted to do. Success was my only option, I wouldn’t settle for anything other than success, and being a corporate accountant was the goal I was setting for myself even with the many hardships that were going to come with it. Nothing inspires success more than failure. I never quite understood what it felt like to fail until I received my first failing grade. I studied so hard for that test and I still failed. I was thinking about that failing grade for a couple day, and I just couldn’t quite get over it. When I saw the other people in my class had failed also, it didn’t seem to upset them. They …show more content…

I know what was going through their head, “it’s just high school”. Getting that failing grade made me realize that I needed to strive for success in everything I do. Even if it was only high school, I was not going to fail ever again. If I had an uncaring attitude about failure in high school I was most likely going to have a careless attitude about college and in other things in my life. Failure is the easiest route to take, but you get nothing out of failing. I know success would be worth working for. Studying was going to be a major key to achieving many things in my life. I needed to get in the habit of studying because that was going to be the path to

Therefore, no matter the goal you are trying to reach, always know failure comes with the enjoyment of success. If I felt like a failure after finding out I did not receive the opportunity to be accepted into the school, I would not have been able to push myself to become greater. Try and you shall succeed. If being successful or achieving a goal was easy; many people would be successful already. However, since being successful or achieving a goal takes a great deal of time and comes with failure; some people rather give up than keep on…

In the article, “Want to Get Into College? Learn to Fail”, Angel Perez argues that if students want to get into college they must learn to fail. Failure isn’t something that we want to happen. Perez wants his readers to know failure isn’t the end but is the beginning of something…

Failure is the state of not meeting an objective, and is normal for people to face throughout there life. I can speak on experience an event that had happened this past summer. After finals when my school had sent out final report cards, it was sad to see that my final average in my US History course did not meet the requirements to continue to the next grade. From there I had two options: to go to summer school and pass so that I may continue school at the academy or transfer schools and repeat my junior year of high school. With these two options I decided that it would be best to go to summer school and put all I had into the class so that I may pass. Sadly this failure had affected my life more than expected. I could no longer take part…

Failure, when pertaining to human achievement is the act of not reaching success. Failure, though, in its own right is just an idea because as Winston Churchill once said, “ Success is not final, failure is not final; it is the courage to continue that counts.” This is a lesson I learned at the end of my freshman year of high school. Freshman year wasn’t my best year academically, athletically, or socially. I wasn’t specifically failing in any of those areas, but I released at the end of year how strikingly mundane I had been when I thought I should have been exceling. I beat myself up, considering anything less than my expectations a failure. I wanted to give up and not care. The weird thing is though, is that this mishap I had didn’t detour…

In my case, I see it as giving everything your all at what you do. In my household family I am considered to be bright and known to always receive excellent grades, but in school everything changes. I am not as intelligent as everyone else, but what I do have is that I do not give up. My peers seem to get devastated from failing grades and not having the highest average as they hoped for. I, myself see failure as a motivation to never give up. Even when I feel like I have given my all into a goal I continue to move forward to get even further. I like to reach for the sky even if it seems…

My experience with failure came with athletics. For my whole life I have always been involved in sports like soccer, tennis, basketball. When I was in the fourth grade I joined a swim team and that was the first and really only sport that I stuck with; swimming came naturally to me, and it was something that I could do year round and I loved every minute of it. However, once I was in high school I stopped swimming and joined my high school’s cross country team. My dad was a runner all throughout high school so I thought it would be a good idea to give the sport my father loved a chance. The cross country team allowed me to grow, and I learned things about myself including that fact that I can’t run. It’s not that I can’t physically run, I have…

An experience that makes me proud during my first year of school was failing. It was a wake-up call, a realization that I could overcome a difficult obstacle due to the mistakes I had made. Therefore, I dedicated all my time to make-up all the classes I received low grades in. I pushed myself to persevere and not become a high school drop-out; I refused to be labeled a failure. I worked twice as hard in the classes I had received low grades; so when I was taking them again I would pass with a better grade I would be satisfied with. I managed my time efficiently to give myself enough time for each class and receive help when I asked certain teachers who offered tutoring. I took advantage of all extra credit assignments when offered, I believed…

Everyday people strive for perfection, but the truth is that no one will ever achieve it. Within every task, challenge or achievement, failure is present. Most fear the possibility of failure because weaknesses are brought out and people feel vulnerable. On the other hand I witnessed a learning aspect from failure, and have a new understanding of it. Varsity football was where I faced a large amount of failure, but in turn learned many lessons.…

A time when I experienced extreme failure was when I was in my sophomore year of high school. When I started the year, I had the mindset of, “This is going to be easy. I’m not going to sweat it.” Reason being, in my freshman year, I passed all my classes easily and I thought the next school year would be the same. I was in for a rude awakening by then. It was my first year starting an AP class and I heard stories that it was going to be easy if one paid attention in class. As the first semester went, it was a struggle already. I had easily underestimated the workload and found myself barely passing with a C. I have the type of personality where I put a lot of pressure on myself and stress out easily; as one can imagine, I was very hard on myself.…

For some people it takes forever to figure out that failure is not always a bad thing, while at the time it may seem like the end of the world. “We are all potentially capable of any human act.” (Roth 39). Even the most successful of people have failed at something at least once in their lives. Maybe consider though, that failure was what brought them back up to the best, hardest working person that they could be and it did not take long for them to retrieve what they had lost and made it ten times better!…
