For students, Teachers' Day is an occasion to pay reverence and gratitude to teachers for their selfless effort in shaping their career and enriching the education system in the process.
India has been celebrating Teacher's Day on 5th September, since 1962. The day commemorates the birthday of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakhrishnan, a philosopher and a teacher par excellence, and his contribution towards Indian education system. Dr. Radhakhrishnan believed that "teachers should be the best minds in the country". On this day, we gratefully remember the great educationist, apart from honoring all the teachers that have made our life much more knowledgeable and fulfilled, as serving as our beacons of light.
The birthday of Dr Sarvepalli Radhakhrishnan came to be celebrated as Teacher's Day when, one day, some of his students and friends requested him to allow them to celebrate his birthday. In reply, Dr. Radhakrishnan said, "instead of celebrating my birthday separately, it would be my proud privilege if September 5th is observed as Teacher's day". From then onwards, Dr. Radhakrishnan's birthday is observed as Teacher's Day all across India.
Teachers' Day is very important for all the people in India, as the teachers act as foundation for creating responsible citizens and good human beings. It is impossible to imagine our lives without teachers. They are the cornerstone of our future. We can never thank our teachers enough for their immense contribution in our life. Teacher's Day is celebrated to show our acknowledgement and recognition of the hard work put in by our teachers towards our development.
Students look forward to Teacher’s Day with a lot of anticipation, for the sheer spirit of the occasion. Acting as teachers, they get a fair idea of the responsibility, so efficiently burdened by their teachers. It requires a lot of hard work and dedication to be a good teacher and earn the fondness of the students at the same time. Teachers, on this day, are reminded of their school days and feel nostalgic.
Celebration of Teachers' Day is a wonderful opportunity especially for all of us to show our gratitude and appreciation to our teachers.

At the El Paso Museum of Art I saw many beautiful and wonderful paintings and sculptures but the “The Portrait” was the sculpture that caught my attention the most. “The Portrait” was sculpted by Frances Bagley an American artist born on April 7, 1946 in Fayetteville, Tennessee. Frances Bagley lives and works in Dallas, Texas. “The Portrait” was created in 1997 and it is made out of stainless steel and marble. I believe that “The Portrait” is an interesting piece of art because it resembles exactly what the title says. It is a portrait of a the artist or a portrait of woman. The sculpture has shape and contour which is the shape of a woman like in a night gown. The sculpture has mass. It also has texture because in the stainless steel you can see that is shine and smooth and the marble is not finish so you can see that is rough. It has color because even if the marble is rough it has different colors. It has proportion and scale in the part of the body from top to bottom as well it does have the proper scale to simulate a woman sitting down. “The Portrait” has design, unity, and aesthetic because the whole piece is appealing to eye since it resembles the shape of a woman with the different pieces of rough marble place inside of the stainless structure and even if the materials does not have a glamorous touch the sculpture does captivate the viewers attention because of its has beauty. But most important the portrait has content and iconography because the piece is portraying a woman that is always beautiful even in her simplest form and it also resembles the meaning that a woman has in society as a strong person because it gives life to their children and as the foundation of the family. In my opinion The Portray has the meaning of what a woman is. She is hard as stainless steel because she knows that she always have to be there as an inspiration for her family or her children. She…

Materialized by the play of shadow and light in the mysterious garret, the opposition light/dark and its permutations provide the central motifs of the play. These motifs include: sight and blindness, ideal and vulgar, truth and lie. We should note its significance to Gregers's cause in particular. Unlike his near-blind father, Gregers believes that he "sees his mission in life," despite Werle's warning that he only looks through his sickly mother's "clouded eyes". Gregers is intent on bringing the "light of transfiguration" fails to shine forth from the couple after their confrontation. This light is the light of redemption according to the rigid claims of the ideal. Hialmar should rejoice in making himself noble and raise his wife to his own exalted level. As Relling will argue in the subsequent act, Gregers's fantasy of Hialmar as a "shining light" among men marks his neurosis: a disease of hero-worship and romantic idealization.…
