Good Clok Act 4 Scene 4

Scene 4: Good Cloak Scene 4 begins with light piano playing music in the background as a white van turns the corner of a seemingly quiet neighborhood. It turns out to be the van of the locksmith that has been working throughout the movie. He is seen returning a greeting wave from a woman who is walking alongside the side walk in a robe. The scene gives a sociological sense of a nice friendly and safe neighborhood and environment. Daniel, the locksmith, pulls up to his drive way while the Iranian man, exits his car that is parked directly in front of Daniel’s residence. The Iranian man’s store had just been burglarized coincidentally after Daniel changed his locks. As Daniel exits his van the camera focuses on the sign on the van door that says “24 Hours, Servicing All Areas”. Sociologically, this states that Daniel is a hard working class citizen. Afterwards, a scene shot takes place within the house of Daniel’s and his little girl runs to the window and shouts to her mom, “Daddy’s home!” The house is well kept and displays a Christmas tree, presents and nativity scene near the window. Psychologically, the Iranian man is fueled with rage and determined to carry out the dangerous task. He is not rationalizing or taking into account the potential consequences of the action he is about to commit. Sociologically, the Iranian man would be expected to take matters into his own hands which are that Daniel is to blame for the burglary because he did not serve and protect him or his property. Therefore, he will make him pay for his crime that the Iranian man feels he committed against him.
