They are poised but yet have a lot of fun. They take the presidency seriously and make the right calls. They don't just bomb someone because they don't like them. A good president also does his or her political work. You don't want a president with much political work, but you want no political work. Someone with too much political work can get us in trouble, but, if you have no political work, they have no idea what to do. You also have to have a president that respects the veterans and those in the military. This is important because they are the one’s keeping the country safe. Back to political work, they need to know the system, laws, and how to make the right calls. Now, I can’t make my opinion about this, but I don't think Donald Trump will be successful for this position. Yet, he does have many good aspects of things he says. …show more content…

Almost every child has heard the phrase, "You can grow up to be president someday." And part of that rings true, but is everyone really cut out to be president? What qualifies someone to be a good president? Sadly, not everyone can be president, and a good lot of people should never be put in any type of leadership role. What makes a president great? A great president can be many things; for instance, they can lead their country, protect their country, avoid wars, have the personality that America loves, and he/she can lead their country the good times and the bad times. Ronald Reagan has been shot and survived through it, has avoided nuclear warfare between the US and Russia, and before all these events he is known for being an actor; not to mention the “only movie actor to become president.” (Reagan, Ronald W. 1) President Reagan is an extraordinary man; being president, avoiding war with foreign countries, a popular actor, and by playing a pivotal role in America’s economy.…

A great president is one who supports and keeps the country in order following the Constitution and the Declaration of Independence. This president will have love for their country and the citizens in it, doing whatever it takes to protect the sovereign -- as long as the ends are worth the means taken to procure the safety. For president Andrew Jackson, the country was nearly his family. His devotion, though admirable, does not fully qualify him to be considered good in the eyes of future generations. The death tolls and the financial panic he is responsible for have led to this downfall in legacy, as well as his moral standings well know at the time of his reign.…

George Washington, the First president of the uNited States, was one of those people. Even at an early age Washington displayed characteristics that would empower him to the presidency. The path was not an easy one it required perseverance, ingenuity, and compromise. He was driven by the desire to establish a solid foundation to the new democracy. To help achieve this goal Washington joined the militia and was soon recognized and respected as a leader. Washington was well respected by his peers, and this is why there was a movement afoot to appoint George Washington to the newly created position of President. Washington realized as president that being firm in his beliefs would not allow him to achieve his goals. He understood the need for flexibility and compromise in the positions in which he took. His love of country and the dislike of monarchies and his belief in a strong constitution being necessary to enable free men to govern themselves he dedicated himself to the presidency and to the country. He was the man who could have been a king but refused a crown and saved a…

The presidency of the United States is arguably the most important position to hold in the entire country. The president is the figurehead of the country; the person people look to for reassurance and the person they blame when something goes wrong. Of the forty-four presidents that our country has seen to this day, each of them has their own distinct character and personality. Some will argue that the personality of the president shapes their performance in office. One of these people is James Barber, author of the book The Presidential Character. In his book, Barber makes an argument concerning the impact of personality and presidential performance. He believes that the character of the president matters above all, and through his system of personality types, citizens will be advised in choosing the right president through some clear criteria.…
