Graduation Speech: Gaining Independence Rock
Today we reached Independence Rock. As soon as we get there we pull out a blanket and have a picnic. We had bread and meat with whatever was left over from the morning meal. After we eat, we carved our names on the top of the rock where the sun points too. We carved it in the order of wagon trails, family, and their age. We carved our names in with a pocket knife. We sat next to the rock. The rock is super tall and was hard to climb it.

Enforcing the law proved almost impossible. Smuggling and bootlegging were widespread. Two New York agents, Izzie Einstein and Mo Smith, relied on disguises while staging their raids--once posing as man and wife. Their efforts were halted, however, after a raid on New York City's 21 trapped some of the city's leading citizens. In New York, 7,000 arrests for liquor law violations resulted in 17 convictions. Prohibition in the United States was a national ban on the sale, manufacture, and transportation of alcohol, in place from 1919 to 1933.…

I haven’t stopped running since May of 2013, and truth be told, I’m getting kind of tired of it. Not of the sweat, the fact that my legs are constantly sore, the nuisance of cycling all of my workout clothes through the wash every week, or even the fact that I still look like the skinniest guy in the gym. No, I’m getting tired of all the other baggage that’s come with it.…

A special place that I would like to share with a friend is Sam A. Baker State Park. Deep in the heart of Missouri, after an hour of driving off from the highway, there’s a small road that meanders into the woods. Around this time, the children in the back of the car, who had been drifting off in the summer heat, perk up and grow rambunctious. Shortly after turning onto the road, which takes metaphorical ages for the children, the car passes an old wooden welcome sign that says “Sam A. Baker State Park”. This is a distinctive place for my family and it shares the memories and sentimental value of common hereditary history. It is a gorgeous state park with rivers, creeks, woodlands, and hills.…

"Conformity is the jailer of freedom and the enemy of growth,"-John F. Kennedy. The king of Great Britain was imposing taxes on us without our consent. He cut off all of our trades with the world, and he has abdicated government here, by declaring us out of his protection and waging war against us. The question is if gaining our independence is a good idea or not? I believe we should allow him to cut all connections with us because that way we can enforce our own laws and grow as a fair country where everyone votes and are all equal. Gaining our independence will take time which we will make it without Britain.…

One thing people have always told me is that I remind them of the person Randall Cobb from the book game changers. He has one of the most creative and unique personalities. He is passionate for the game of basketball by working hard on his time. Randall is also talented in the subjects math and science by pushing himself to make good grades. He also thrives to help people even if it's with school work, personal problems, or on the basketball court. All in all he was almost exact the same person as I am he likes basketball, he helps others, and he does well in school.…

Men and women of West Orange, are we not citizens of a nation that preaches to be a land of freedom? Would one not assume that we would readily give independence to all members of our country considering how hard we fought to gain our own from Britain? Then why have we oppressed the black population of America for so long through the institution of slavery? Today, I am here today to convince you to join the noble fight for abolition and march together in front of our Capitol to incite change. Together, our protest will raise the attention of those who can make a change on a legislative level.…

Good evening gentlemen of Massachusetts. Thank you for coming. We are gathered here this evening to discuss the basic principles of the United States of America. Almost 50 years after our Founding Fathers put their finishing touches on the Declaration of Independence, we find ourselves in a dilemma, caused by contradicting views of said document. One of those Founding Fathers, Thomas Jefferson passionately preached about the importance of our natural rights- life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.…

Due to the recent events particularly effecting our Teenage World, we, as teenagers want to speak on behalf of our majority group. It has become a growing importance that teenagers now seek an independence from their parental authorities. All humans have a constitutional right to independence. The actual independence sought for from this Declaration is not to ignorantly demand an immature imbalance of childish desires, but rather to declare an independence more typical to that of an adult. We are not begging for video games, or a raise in our (non-existent) allowance. We significantly desire an opportunity to prove we are worthy of a more suitable independence.…

Sadly, America today is not what we had hoped for what we want our future to be. More deaths and destructive incidents have occurred over race. No one is able to walk the streets safely without being questioned or afraid for their lives. The people of color live in fear each and every day of their lives because of the color of their skin. There is no one that we are able to trust our lives, justice, and freedom with. Whereas white people have nothing to fear because they have never felt this way before and will never face this barrier the vast majority of America has faced. They have someone they can trust, be protected by, and live their full rights in having freedom. In return minorities have received this delusion of the ever promised freedom for which we originally came for. America is this way because of how we are brought up in the world. It begins with our family and how they perceive race then it is taught to us…

Our dollar bills have the quote of “in God we trust” and our Pledge of Allegiance has “one nation under God”. The Supreme Court now has a new judge who has strictly made decision based on his faith. Their faiths may not be the same as you and I profess. Your religion may not be the same as his and he may not have a religion at all. We have been taught about the US Constitution since we were in elementary school, I remember singing a song about James Madison writing about the Constitution which includes the 10 amendments. The first amendment is the freedom of the people to exercise any belief they choose to follow. This was in 1787 and Madison purposely wrote this amendment to break away from how the British ruled over them.…
