Grayville Monologue
There once was an island in the middle of the Netherlands, called Grayville. In Grayville there was only one color, gray, the dragons, the buildings, the floor, basically the whole island was gray. This was because there was an evil king, his name was King Fluff. King Fluff made it rain all day, every day, which washed away all of the color, Johnny was sick of it. Johnny is a dragon who was born in Grayville, he hated every day of his life, all he wanted was to see color.
“What are yo-, Johnny!”, Darla was Jhonny’s best friend, but even though she hated it in Grayville as well, she denied Johnny’s plans to escape, “I thought I told you we can’t leave this island!”
“Don’t worry, it’s not a plan to leave the island, but it is a plan that is

She thought they were a waste of time, but when she’s not busy she plays hopscotch and jumps rope, talk about boring.
“Well, what if we could stay in this island, but also see color.” Johnny said this, but at this moment he was just hoping he didn’t get punched in the face.
“Then, ...I’m listening.” Said Darla looking ashamed of herself. Johnny started to tell her his plan, hoping she wouldn’t disagree and change her mind. He hoped to find King Fluff’s castle, which was hidden somewhere on the island, break in and stop the evil king. But, there was one problem, how were they ever going to defeat the king, he has thousands of guards, lasers surrounding the castle, and giant rock spikes at the base of it. They can fly, but he also has a non-fly mist flouting around the castle, that makes sure no one but the guards and King Fluff can fly. Then, surprisingly, Darla thought of an idea. “What if we take a guard uniform and pretend to be them.” she said. “Great, well take out the two guards at the front of the castle and steel there uniforms, no one will recognize us.” Johnny

So, they threw on their guard uniforms and headed for the skull. The skull was the main headquarters of the castle, it was also King Fluff’s office and bedroom. If they got into the skull, they would for sure find King Fluff. There was only one slight problem, there was thousands of stairs up to the skull, but the couldn’t fly. So, they got to it climbing flight after flight until they got to the top and after what felt like forever reached the skull. They busted in, and ran towards King Fluff. King Fluff wore a dark black cloak, and his claws, THEY WERE ACTUALLY GREEN! Never had Johnny seen such color, they were beautiful. “Stop,” Exclaimed Johnny out of breath, “Were here to stop you! Then, the unspeakable happened, when King Fluff turned around, there were tears dripping down his face and in his eyes, he was crying. That’s when Johnny realized, he was never evil, just sad, and that’s why it always rained. He looked over at Darla and she said something he had never expected to say, “What can we do to help.” said

Johnny and Dally share one big similarity and that is that they both have abusive parents. Johnny’s parents don’t pay any attention to him or they beat him, that really bugs Johnny. The rest of the gang notices that and they show Johnny the affection that he needs. Ponyboy says “‘His father was always beating him up, and his mother ignores him”’ (12). It is very obvious that Johnny is sensitive about his situation at home. Dally is the opposite of Johnny is his situation at home, he does not care about his parents or if they care about him. Johnny herself many times states that she is dead, so perhaps she actually is and none of this is real. George mentions it himself, when he says,“That's the thing with delusions, sometimes they can appear so real” (Hayden Taylor 19), giving the reader the idea that none of what is happening is occur between two people, but rather that George is imagining everything. This puts the idea in the reader's mind that it indeed was a delusion. Johnny herself at times implies that she does not exist anymore, saying, “Me… I’m a memory. Whose memory I’m not sure,” (Hayden Taylor 17) leaving the reader believing that she might be telling the truth, that she is a memory, perhaps a memory of George’s past mistakes and guilt, or even a memory of all Natives that were abused in Residential Schools coming back to haunt those who wronged them.…
