There 4 significant items that play big roles in the story. First item is Two- bit’s black handle switchblade. Two- bit's switchblade is his most prized possession He had stolen it from and hardware store. It gives Two- bit a sort of new found power or strength which gives him the thought of no one could harm him when he has it. Two- bit never actually uses it he morely uses it to show he is more superior than you and also just to brag and show off about it. The significance of his blade becomes more evident as at the hospital Dally borrows the blade, then uses it to break out the hospital and help out his gang in the rumble. After Dally is killed the blade is confiscated

Next is the socs Cars. The socs cars is a resemblance of the socs wealth, and power over the greasers. The socs use these cars to catch and ambush greasers on the run to jump them, as greasers travel mostly on foot. The cars are a sense of leverage or advantage over the greasers, as they don't have much experience as the greasers on foot in combat. 3rd item is Bob’s rings. Bobs rings along with the socs cars a sign of wealth. The rings as a physical power along with wealth. Bob uses his rings as a weapon in combat as he uses it to show his superiority over the greaser. Bob uses his wealth to damage the greasers. Bobs rings are also what Johnny remembers of the person who had beaten him up real bad in the past, which ultimately lead him to kill Bob and also the fact that Ponyboy was being drowned. Lastly the greasers hair. As socs have wealth to afford cars and jewelry, greasers identification come from the way they wear their hair and the amount of grease they use in it. Greasers have a specific hairstyle to standout and separate themselves from other greaser gangs. Greasers hair is also a representation of how men
