The first thing that comes to my mind when I think of death and punishment is the god Hades. Evil? Not so much. First of all, Hades rules the underworld (page 17), which is the place where all the dead go, so him being related to death isn’t much of a surprise. Second, punishment is one of the things Hades is in charge of. Although not all punishment is controlled by him, there have been many occasions of him punishing some of the worst souls in the underworld. Lastly, evil. To many people, Hades seems evil, but I believe he isn’t. Evil is a label given to him because of his role in our world. Sure sometimes he could do horrible things, but he is not evil.
Ages of humanity: When it comes to this topic, there are two stories. The first is the story of the five stages, and the second is the story of Prometheus and Epimetheus. The stories, so different, agree on something (page 10). At the beginning, there were only men on earth. Later on, Zeus created Pandora as the first woman. She was a gift, but more of a punishment. She was created for getting revenge on all of mankind. If you ask me, I think the story of Prometheus and his brother makes more sense, and it reaches out to me more. Both stories were tremendously fascinating, but I enjoyed reading about Prometheus and Epimetheus more.
