Grievance Argument Essay
In your grievance filed at Huachuca Unit, you claim staff confiscated some of your incoming legal documents. You further assert that you did not receive a contraband form for the documents. You want the legal documents immediately returned and staff redirected.
Your grievance appeal has been reviewed at Central Office and the Warden's response is affirmed. Pursuant to Department Order 902.03, GENERAL RESPONSIBILITY:
1.5.1.2 Inmates shall not possess or store other inmates’ legal paperwork in their cell or housing area.
The documents that were mailed to you referenced another inmate. Based upon the aforementioned policy, staff was justified in seizing the documents. Although, judicial documents are considered public record you must obtain
them in accordance with A.R.S. § 39-121.03, Public Record Request.
No further action is warranted in this matter.
