Group Intervention Report
As opposed to what I had described in my previous journal entry, there was a possibility of continuing the intervention. On Tuesday during our group meeting Lilia, one of our group members brought up the possibility of extending our intervention. During this meeting, Lilia gave us detail on what she had discussed with a few teachers. It seemed some teachers felt the intervention was short and were on board to continue the intervention. When the topic was first brought up everyone in the group thought it was an outstanding idea. There was discussion on the pros and cons of proceeding with our research. It was important to have an outline as to how we would move forward with the intervention if we decided to extend it. Everyone was asked about

Unfortunately, we had received an email from Ms. Kathy Moser that due to the children testing the teachers had decided that it was best to not continue the intervention. Moving forward with these news during our meeting my group and myself decided that we would be focusing on our poster board. We read over a grade rubric so that everything expected from everyone would be clarified in case anyone had questions. We went into detail and discussed the focus group as Lilia and myself are assigned to get that finished by the week of the 18th. For the poster board Molly and Lupita will be focusing on data entry and graphs. Mario will be starting on the introduction and methods. As for Nick, he will be doing demographics and compare Merced; as a city, county, and the state. During this meeting, Lilia and I were a little confused and came up with a few question we would be asking Dr. Gaab about the focus group and how we can make it run smoothly. We also wanted to add a few more questions to the focus group debriefing for example we wanted to ask kids who didn’t do weigh ins why they felt uncomfortable or what stopped them from wanting to do it. Also, we wanted to know if the children were informed that if they were inconsistent with the weigh in for example that they would be dropped from
