“Most people cannot stand being alone for long. They are always seeking groups to belong to…” (583). I am a male, Latino, 19 years old. When my father read the excerpt from Lessing, his reaction was totally different from mine and Ana’s. My father was opposed from what Lessing believes. My father said that growing up was tough. No one helped him get through the tough events that he had to live through. He usually did things on his own and if he wanted something than he would get it on his own. My father was in the Salvadoran civil war that occurred in the 1970’s. He was 13 years old at the time and he was forced to fight. My father did not want to live in a life where there was a lot of danger. He did not want a life where he had to worry about his financial status. He did things his way. My fathers view is different and it makes sense. He has a business and I notice that he does things his way. He thinks more like businessman.
