We live in a world in which every one wants to be successful. Nevertheless, sometimes we have to do what we don’t enjoy doing for success. Therefore more and more “twixters“ will appear as inexorable trend. After I read Lev Grossman ‘s article, “Grow Up? Not So Fast”, Grossman asked: “Where did the twixters come from? And what's taking them so long to get where they're going?” (Grossman 1). So, I began to wander why the “twixters“ want to put off growing up. In Fact, nothing is wrong about the adolescents to resist growing up, but it is somewhat childish to think adolescents can flee some kind of responsibility and working by putting off growing up. I agree with “the twixters aren't lazy” (Grossman 1), but they lack courage to undertake their responsibility. They have reliance on their parents and the supports from society. We should know, things that are necessary are not always enjoyable and things that are enjoyable sometimes may be unnecessary. Doing things that are necessary rather than those that are merely enjoyable is not only helpful, but might also be indispensable for individual success. We all admire even envy those who now have attained great achievements, such those famous stars as Jacky Chen, Jet Li. We should, however, be aware of the exorbitant prices they have paid for their present glories. Jacky Chen once told that when he was still a teenager, he and his partners were required to practice more than 12 hours a day; and it was said that Jet Li was sent to be an apprentice when he was hardly four years old! Apparently, those seemingly cruel hardships have turned out to be the best gifts years later. So, “society no longer provides young people with the moral backbone and the financial wherewithal to take their rightful places in the adult world” (Grossman 1) is necessary way to improve “twixters“
