In 2013, a poll was surveyed on gun owners stating why they own firearms: Protection Against Crime had a portion of 60%, Hunting had a portion of 36%, and recreating/target shooting had a portion of 21%. The thing about this poll that doesn’t make it accurate is because they do not know who all owns guns. You have the black market that guns are being passed and sold like it is food. You have people stealing guns. According to the Brady Campaign, there are millions of guns being sold every year in “no questions asked transactions.” What can we do to decrease the rate of gun violence in America without making it illegal for anyone to carry a gun? First, we do background checks of anyone who wants to buy a gun. Second, if they want to buy a gun, they have to go through serious training. Third, lock down on the black markets and weapon trafficking. Next, we take it more serious when guns are stolen or taken. Finally, we try our hardest to make sure that guns don’t get in the hands of the wrong
