Hacksaw Ridge As you can see, I’m researching about a bloody battle. This battle took place in World War II, and it was the final battle. This battle killed a lot of people, and it took a whole year for the battle to end. You’re probably how I got interested in the bloody battle. My father was a marine, and he wanted to watch Hacksaw Ridge, and it was very interesting and I wanted to keep learning about this battle, so I started researching about it. When people think that the Battle of Okinawa ( Hacksaw Ridge), they think of something terrifying, but also happy. Throughout this essay, I will easily show that the story of Hacksaw Ridge, is one of the most amazing stories about World War II.

It was important because the island that they were on, couldn’t be overemphasized. When the invasion of mainland Japan was necessary to end the war, Okinawa was an essential point for the impending invasion. Our airfields and Okinawa’s airfields were indispensable to the launching of the bombs and long-range escorts for the preparatory bombing for the land invasion of Japan. This island was the key to our win, it helped our enemies when we were first coming onto the beach, but we were able to take their upper hand away once we got onto that cliff.
The battle was located on top of a steep cliff, it’s a 400-foot drop. The cliff was very dangerous, if you just stepped back a little bit, you would fall and die. Since the cliff was so steep, and it took them a while to get up the cliff, the Japanese saw them and took their places of attacking. The cliff that they were on was named Hacksaw Ridge, that’s how they got the name of the movie. That cliff was actually the very key for the men of winning the battle. The island is located in the Pacific Ocean and the East China Sea. The island of Okinawa is only 955 miles away, from
