Hae Min Lee Essay
Based on the 11 episodes heard, I don’t think Adnan should had been convicted for the death of Hae Min Lee. Since there isn’t enough information to prove Adnan’s guilt, he shouldn’t be convicted in the first place. There are various reasons why I think Adnan is innocent.
First off, the evidences used and provided. Throughout the podcast there are many information provide but not all of them were used during court. The Asia letters were the first piece of evidence which was not used in court. Asia said she say Adnan at the school library when classes were over. That was around the time where Hae was about to be killed. It wasn’t just Asia, her friends also saw him there. They didn’t even do a DNA test to prove Adnan was at Leakin Park

Adnan was acting normally around his friends and all his friends didn’t say he was acting oddly during the days after Hae went missing. At that time Jay acted frightened as he was scared to be caught helping someone murder Hae. It doesn’t make sense on how if Adnan had murdered Hae, he would be acting more caution compared to how he is normally while Jay who just helped bury the body is acting all paranoid and was being wary of his surroundings. If Adnan was the murderer, why wasn’t he in Jay’s kind of predicament acting all wary and paranoid. Why would Jay try to remove and hide all evidence of his involvement while Adnan isn’t? It is probably because Adnan wasn’t murderer and it was either Jay or one of Jay’s friends.
These are the reasons why I believe Adnan shouldn’t had been convicted. There wasn’t enough evidence to prove Adnan’s guilt as not every piece of proof was used and most of it can’t make Adnan guilty. Jay’s testimony has many inconsistency from the first to fourth one with misleading information that backfires on him. The actions Adnan didn’t make to hide all evidence of himself from being at the scene. Due to the fact that there wasn’t enough information to prove Adnan’s guilt of murdering Hae Min Lee, he shouldn’t had be convicted in the first

One thing you should know is that Adnan’s phone pinged from a cell tower by Leakin Park, the way cell towers work is that if you are in the range of a cell tower, the one you are nearest to is the one that will connect. If you remember earlier I stated that Jay had Adnan’s phone at this time, and if you are wondering what reason there would be for Jay to have a grudge on Adnan, well remember Jay's girlfriend she is also Adnan’s best friend, and on top of that during a dance they were both crowned king and queen instead of Jay and her. While this would not give most people a reason to frame someone, it might have been to Jay. To many people Jay was always a very weird and mean kid while to others he was goofy, but there was an instance when he was talking to a friend of his and they started joking around, jay told his friend he “should to know what it's like to be stabbed” and took out his knife, his friend then said “no I don't want to know, why don't you?” and then Jay pretended to try to stab him to which the guy held his hand and they both began to wrestle. This puts Jay in a very tight spot, but even with this there is one evidence that looks especially bad for Adnan and that is the Nisha call. The Nisha call happens at 3:37 pm the afternoon of Hae’s disappearance and it puts Adnan with Jay which in turn collaborates with Jay's story and makes Adnan’s alibi that Jay had his phone invalid.…

Police coaching is also believed to have taken place during the questioning of Jay. Within the police files, there is a document labeled ‘Jays Crinology’ and a few maps that show where cell towers are located and pinged throughout the day of the event. The document referring to what Jay’s activities is a numbered list with twenty four events that took place on the day of Hae’s disappearance. It is believed that the police were helping Jay remember the points on that list by reminding him about details that he forgot about. For example, detective McGillivray sighs of exasperation and points out that Jay and Adnan have both Hae’s car and Adnan’s car at one point in time, and Jay forgets about the detail of still having both cars. Jay says, “We…

    Hae Min Lee Case Analysis

Jay has been inconsistent with each story he has ever told. In each interview, he would change parts of the story he had previously shared. It is baffling to me that Adnan’s friend, Jay, a small town drug dealer, manages to convince the jury that he is a believable source in the murder case. It is likely that the reason the jurors had so much faith in Jay was because he was the only evidence the jury had to lean on. Other than Adnan’s handprint in Lee’s car, it would be ludicrous to say that Adnan murdered Hae Min Lee. During the first interview, Jay claimed that he heard Adnan say he wants to kill Hae Min Lee, then the next day he was shown Lee’s body and Jay helped Adnan get rid of it. In the next interview, Jay insists that Adnan mentioned a few weeks before, he would kill Hae Min Lee. Jay’s timeline, inconsistent as it is, shows that Hae Min Lee was strangled in the parking lot of Best Buy before 2:36 P.M. However, multiple eyewitnesses claimed to have seen Lee at school around that same time period of the same day. Jay also…

    Evidence In Tom's Case

Would evidence have been used in Tom’s case? According to a case dealing with an African American, no it wouldn’t. No one seemed to take into consideration that the man “didn’t match the victim’s description of [her rapist],”(INNOCENT MAN’S EIGHT YEAR PRISON ORDEAL). But this evidence didn’t seem to matter, as they were convinced the man had committed the crime. Yet another case when the victim didn’t identify the man as the criminal. A man “Josh Ryen, attacked by three Caucasian or Latino man [had attacked and robbed him], not one African American [like the one that had been convicted of the crime]” (Wooten). The trail should have waited until Ryen's testimony could be heard. Even after Ryen's statement on who the real criminals were evidence…

Jay Wilds was an acquaintance of Adnan Syed, not a friend, just an acquaintance. Jay was a year older than Hae and Adnan, and his only real connection to Adnan was his girlfriend, Stephanie, who was one of Adnan’s closest friends. Also, Adnan would loan his car out to Jay every Wednesday to make drug deals. Other than that though, Jay and Adnan meant nothing more to each other. In episode three of Undisclosed the listener hears when Detective Lehmann asked Jenn Pusateri, a friend of Jay’s, if Adnan and Jay were friends, Jenn stated, “Oh no, not at all, no.” During Adnan’s trial his attorney, Cristina Gutierrez, crossed examined Jay and stated to him, “You weren’t very tight with Adnan,” in which Jay replied, “No ma’am.” To many it may seem suspicious that of all people Adnan confided in Jay, whom he wasn’t friends…

Adnan is in jail and knowing that he may or may not have done it, but Jay changed his story over and over, and Adnan said the same story and didn't change anything and when he thought of something he told them what he remembered. When someone asked Jay if he said something that he said before he would say that he didn't say that, which he did he changed his story to make him look innocent when he probably isn't. Jay should of got sometime in jail instead of no time because they didn't even think of when he helped Adnan dig the hole they didn't ask Adnan if he helped him or not they just went off of what Jay said and what Jay said probably isn't right.…

Stereotyping creeps into interviews quite often. As the case of Adnan, when his mother mentioned that she felt that he was an easy target because he was a Muslim, I would have to agree with her. Throughout the trial, Adnan religion and culture was called into question several times. Detective Ritz and MacGillivary tried to establish that Adnan motive for killing Hae was because he had sacrificed his religion to have a relationship and was tired of lying about it. When Sarah talked with the juror, William Owen, she mentioned that Adnan religion played a part at some point in her decision to find him guilty, but then tried to forget about it. But, when the other jurors were polled, Sarah discovered Adnan religion and culture was the determining factor for how they decided on a guilty verdict. Ms. Guiterrez tried to turn the case from, why was the murder committed, to who committed the murder was it Jay with the help from Mr. S? This strategy was used to eliminate any stereotyping that occurred during the prosecution line of questioning. Christina Guiterrez wanted Adnan to be tried without prejudice, regardless of his religion or culture.…

To sum up this paper, Adnan is guilty. He obviously didn’t appreciate others being picked over him, was hiding his feelings about Hae until the truth comes out straight from her, and he had his family and religion to worry about from day one. Adnan was a very jealous guy, and didn’t care about the ways of his religion, making him a disrespectful person. That is why he is…

I feel that the narrator is somewhat bias on her reporting. Though she gives us all the information regarding the case if it makes Adnan look guilty, we somewhat feel that she is trying to prove that Adnan is not guilty and that his trial was not fair. Adnan’s cousin who knew of her because Sarah had written an article about Adnan’s lawyer contacted Sarah. This shows that the narrator was obviously interested in this case and even told us that she has spent a year looking into this case, this would show that could have bias towards the case.…

Who is the murder of this case? With all the information that I being listening am only having to make a supposition of what we have so far, for me the murder of this case have to be Adman. He was the only persons that know Hae the most all, so we can state the amount of trouble he put in the line for Hae was incredible, for example Adnan was a persons that follow the religion, he comes from a family that believe a lot in their religion, also the amount of streets he has to deal just to be in a relationship of Hae it was really thought for this guy. Also, people portrait him like a good student and his mom declare too, but he does stuff that people do not know about like smoking weed with the drug dealers, I found that pretty odd, Furthermore…
