How Do We Define Halloween?
If you were to look in the dictionary, there would be standard entry stating that Halloween is on the 31st of October. Nothing in that description would clue a person into what the holiday stands for, or what makes it so special.

Different cultures throughout the world address the holiday in different ways. Some cultures leave out food for their deceased loved ones. Some hide in fear because they have wronged someone in the past and fear their ghostly revenge. There isn’t a right or wrong way to remember the dead.
• Acceptance: There are many people that go through life feeling that they can’t be accepted. This could be due to how they dress or how they act. Halloween gives them a day where they can be accepted for who they are. This acceptance isn’t just individual, Halloween provides cultural acceptance to a wider audience.
• Fun: Above everything else, Halloween is fun. Halloween brings communities together and it brings families together. Families take children out to trick or treat and allow them to interact with the community.
