The theme of family throughout the play Hamlet demonstrates how important families are in the everyday life and how much a person’s family life influences their character, morals, and actions. There are three main families within the story of Hamlet. The first family is Prince Hamlet’s family. There are many, many statistics showing that teenagers and young adults that end up in jail, doing drugs, or committing other crimes have a direct link to a poor family life. It starts with the parents. Whether a kid’s parents are together or not, or happy or not, directly reflects on a child’s behavioral problems, social skills, depression, and how hard they work at school (Moore).
