He returns from England with a new attitude and allows himself to undertake Horatio’s guidance, ‘There’s a divinity that shapes our ends’. Interestingly, Hamlet does not partake in a soliloquy in this final act, symbolising that he is now ready to finally take revenge against Claudius. Shakespeare in this final scene also reveals to the audience that destiny will inevitably expose death in possibly more ways than one. The way in which he has displayed this thought throughout the play begins with the death of Polonius and ends with the death of Hamlet. Shakespeare then turns to tragedy upon the death of Hamlet as Horatio is given the responsibility to tell the story of his vengeful ways and controls Hamlets emotions as his moral obligations had faded. The human quality of tragedy is well recognized in this play as it attracts large amounts of sympathy, however sympathy is not felt for all of the…

In spite of the fact that the plot evokes the implication that it occurred between the close of 16th century and the start of the 17th century, Shakespeare’s Hamlet surpasses the constraints of time and muses upon both the primitive and contemporary man. In the late 16th century in England, people of all classes on the social echelon, with the exception of royals, were able to publicly eyewitness theatre. Audiences craved new plays to assuage their appetites. One of numerous dramatists that capitalized this abundance of opportunity was Shakespeare. When he isn’t feigning madness, Hamlet is a well educated individual, who is capable of manipulation as well as a capacity for sarcastic wit. Shakespeare effectively portrays Hamlet’s true character through his interactions with other characters as well as his instinctive emotional responses.…

I believe that out of all the characters in William Shakespeare 's Hamlet, Horatio, has the most potential. What I mean by potential is that Horatio would make the best real person if he were not a character within the play. Besides Horatio, every other character seems to have some kind of major flaw or weakness in comparison. Claudius is obviously power hungry and only concerned with himself. Gertrude, although means well, is portrayed as betraying King Hamlet by sleeping with Claudius. Polonius is sneaky and likes to speak on everything he hears. Laertes strikes Hamlet and winds up killing him with poison. Ophelia is so dependent on her father that she goes into a disarray and eventually kills herself. And Hamlet, who is second to Horatio in terms of potential, hurts himself by seeking revenge and killing unarmed Polonius for no real reason. Horatio proves to be the most likable character because he sticks by Hamlets side the entire story, and offers advice and companionship, rather than obsessing about his own well-being.…

In the play you get to experience the trust and loyalty between Hamlet and Horatio. The two characters are very much alike. They both show acts of kindness or softer side. I think Shakespeare use Horatio to show a more positive happy side of Hamlet.…

Horatio, through conversation, develops Hamlet's image. He is the only person Hamlet can come and talk to about all that is going on in his life. Hamlet uses Horatio as a release and tells Horatio some of the plans he has in order to take revenge. In act 2, scene 1, Hamlet tells Horatio that however odd he may act, it is just that, an act. Hamlet trusts Horatio not to tell his secret and not to give him away. He also tells Horatio of his plan to catch Claudius during the play, and he asks Horatio to watch every emotion of the king. 1.The change of mood that occurs In scene one is mainly because of Polonius. This is shown in the beginning of the act when Polonius is hiring a spy to find out how his son is behaving. In the beginning of the scene it is quite funny and suspicious since Polonius acts like he trusts his son, but in actual fact he’s so concerned that he hired someone to look after him. The change of mood occurs when Ophelia runs into the room and explains to Polonius what had just happened with Hamlet ( II,i,ll 85-112). In Hamlet, many think of Hamlet as being the main or only tragically flawed character within the play. However, in actuality, the play contains many other characters that possess varying severities of imperfection, some of which put the shortcomings of Hamlet, the title character of Hamlet, to shame. Despite the tragically flawed nature of Hamlet’s character, other characters in the play are clearly more flawed in comparison to Hamlet.
