Hamlet’s second soliloquy occurs right after the ghost of his fallen father leaves. Before this Hamlet was given certain information that his fathers killer was in fact a close relative. Hamlet’s enthusiasm towards finding his fathers killer is shown when important information is given to him by an apparition, his rage towards the killer increases, and the behavior of King Claudius and Queen Gertrude horrify Hamlet. This soliloquy reveals an important secret to Hamlet and carries his rage and grief. He is shocked, stunned, and in a great grief upon realizing that his father was rather murdered by Hamlet’s uncle. The king told Hamlet everything that happened the time in the garden. The King, being asleep, did not hear anything, so Claudius poured poison down his brother’s ear. Now Prince Hamlet was fully aware that his father’s death was caused by his uncle. Hamlet felt like he needed to kill Claudius for what he did, but he instead devised a plan that would remind Claudius of what he did. The words of the ghost linger in Hamlets
