Impact of IT on the HR function transformation for employee selection and recruitment:
Information technology makes a great influence on human resource function transformation of Sonali Bank Limited. Sonali bank is the largest commercial bank of Bangladesh. So it needs a huge number of employees to maintain the daily activities of the bank. As it is a local and government bank, it has taken some more times to adjust and upgraded with information technology. But now it is performing as a fully technology based bank. Sonali bank now posts circular online. It also asks application online from job seeker. For this online application system it takes less time from traditional application systems. They can sort the potential and deserved applicant from their online database. Then they take written exam and viva to the applicant. And finally they select the successful candidate from the applicant and recruit them as the employee of the bank. These all processes and steps are now so faster by the help of information technology.
Impact of IT on the HR function transformation for employee training:
Sonali bank has human resource development division and also information technology division. These two divisions work together to provide technology based training to their employee. Sonali bank also has six training institutes in different region where IT based training provided to the employees of the bank. Sonali bank provides IT knowledge and training to their new employee and existing employees. All training institutes are facilitated with IT facilities. And they train up the employee about online database management and other IT applications. These all activities is now so quicker and easier as a result if information technology.
