If Harriet was not picked to be a part of the raid less than 800 slaves would have been saved that day on June 2nd, 1863. Some of the slaves ¨would run and hold on so they could not leave the shore¨(Doc C). Since, the slaves would not leave the shore the captain called Harriet´s name and said ¨Moses, come here and speak a word of consolation to your people!”. Moses was Harriet’s nickname in 1863. Now, back to when Harriet sung to the slaves, she was also singing to help get the slaves on board of the gunboats. Harriet sung “Come from the East, come from the West Mong all the glorious nations, this glorious one’s the best…” (Doc C). When Harriet sung this to the slaves they all came on the gunboats and then the boats would push off. Now, since, Harriet was picked she was able to make all of this possible to save the slaves.
In conclusion, a civil war spy would be Harriet Tubman’s greatest achievement because she saved 800 slaves, 100 of the slaves enlisted in the army, and the governor picking Harriet to be part of the raid to save the slaves. Since, Harriet Tubman was able to save 800 slaves in one day and 100 of them enlisted in the army shows that this was her greatest achievement of being a civil war
