The first piece of evidence is that he is rebelling against something big that spans he entire country, maybe even more. This could possibly start another civil war. The first caused more American death then another war, and they didn't have as much technology then. But "Harrison Bergeron" is set in the future, so more casualties could occur. If a lot of people took off their handicaps, and rebelled, there would be anarchy. The society would fall apart, thus Harrison being a danger to it. …show more content…
Another piece of evidence is in this quote."He is a genius,an athlete and is under handicapped, and should be regarded as extremely dangerous" (pg.
2). In the story, he broke matal and snaped chains with ease. He is too dangerous and could possibly hurt other people, whether it be on accident or on purpose. If he hurts someone, the people could get scared and also the government would have to deal with him possibly costing H-G men an money. The loss of money could hert the economy, and although it wouldnt be that bad, a lot of examples in history shows that little actions could end up destroying something. So the government could get hurt in the long
run.
The third and final peice of evidence is that he is extremely clever and crafty. So crafty that he escaped jail, with his handicapes still on. He has to wear big headphones instead of an earpiece beacuse of his intellegence. The H-G men couldnt find a way to stop him. He also hears special glasses that gives him headaches to limit him some more. No one else in the story had those. He almost threw over the government, possibly destoying society.
People also think that he is good, which makes sense. He is fighting for a good cause, but took unsessesary risks. It could seem unfair that no one can be smart or strong, but most likely people voted on it. If he was to fight against it, he could have protested in a more violent way. So he could be either good or bad.
So is Harrison Bergeron bad? He is Rebbeling against something really big, possibly starting a civil war. He also is under-handicaped, and tried to overthrow the government. So i think he is a threat to society and sadly dies in the end."It was then thay Dianna Moon Glampers, the Handdicapper General, came into the studio with a double barreled ten gauge shotgun. She fired twice and the emerour and the emptress were dead before they hit the floor."
