In The Fellowship of the Ring, by J.R.R Tolkien, Frodo, the main character in the book, and the Fellowship are forced together in a need to protect the Ring of Power so that they can, ironically, destroy the very thing they are protecting. J.R.R. Tolkien suggests, through his creation of Middle Earth, that power is not all good.
