Hawaii, the Aloha State
Hawaii is world famous for the beautiful islands lined with beaches with white sand and warm climate. Hawaii is known to be the “Aloha State,” probably because it is one of the most popular tourist states in America. Besides the fact that Hawaii is known as a popular tourists attraction, Hawaii is also known for a great place to live a great life. Hawaii is a group of islands that sits in the North Pacific Ocean. There is a total of 132 islands in Hawaii, which comes to a total area of 6,470 square miles. Hawaii sits 2,400 miles away from the mainland of the United States. Hawaii has diverse culture that consists of Filipino, Japanese, Asian, Chinese, Polynesian, and Korean. Many people that live in Hawaii are proud of their state because it is filled with a different cultural background. Most of the residents in Hawaii are mixtures of different ethnicities. Three fourths of people live in urban areas. Most people live in the capital Honolulu, which is located on the island of Oahu. Hawaii is known for having nice, warm climate year round.
For example, the average temperature in winter is 72 degrees, while the average temperature for summer is 80 degrees. Therefore, the climate is always warm. Precipitation varies throughout the year. This is because they are surrounded by water. The precipitation in Hawaii is usually 126 inches of rain each year. Nonetheless, Honolulu receives approximately 25 inches of rain per year.
Hawaii’s tourists are the leading money maker for the beautiful state. Service industries account for 88% of Hawaii’s total value of goods and services manufactured in the state per year, also known as gross state product. Every year the Hawaii islands welcome around three million people. The island called Oahu is the leading vacation or destination spot in Hawaii. Hawaii’s beaches and warm climate are the leading attractions. Hawaii has other attractions to visit like Hawaii’s National Volcano Park and Haleakala National Park.
Hawaii’s National Volcano Park at present day has three active volcanoes. The three active volcanoes are Maunaloa, Kilauea, and Loihi. Maunaloa is the world’s largest volcano that is 299,000 acres. This last erupted in 1984. Kilauea has an elevation over 4,000 feet and last erupted in 1983. Lastly, Loihi is located underwater off the southern coast of Hawaii’s Big Island. Hawaii.
Haleakala National Park is a park located on the island of Maui. This park includes a hands-on experience with Hawaiian culture, hiking through a bamboo forest, or glimpsing at an inactive volcanic crater. Haleakala National Park has the world’s largest inactive volcanic crater. Present day it measures two miles around and approximately 3,000 feet deep.
Hawaii is a home to many different people. It is made up a beautiful islands that people cannot resist visiting. Hawaii is filled with cultural families that make the islands more interesting for tourists. The warm climate, white sandy beaches, and the historic parks are leading attractions that make Hawaii so special. Hawaii is a great place to live and remember when you enter say, “Aloha.”
