Soccer is increasing in popularity, and the more popular it becomes, the more people there will be at risk of head injuries. Because of the increasing popularity, it is important that everyone understands what concussions are and how they can be prevented.
Dr. Ammar Al-Kashmiri practices emergency medicine and sports medicine and is currently practicing a senior consultant physician at the Emergency department in Khoula hospital, the national trauma center in Oman. Dr. J. Scott Delaney also practices emergency medicine and sports medicine and is currently the associate Professor and Research Director at the Department of Emergency Medicine at McGill University Health Centre and McGill Sport Medicine Clinic. This article, published in July of 2006, was intended to gather information of how concussions occur in soccer and what could be done to prevent them. The information in this article will be useful in addressing my topic because it provides studies that I could use to gather information for my proposal.
