The same for the MRI as the CT scan the patient lays down and becomes slid into the imaging machine. The MRI works but using a magnet to align your water molecules in your head to see which ones do not move. The ones that do not move show where the brain had injury in the brain. The MRI then moves the patient out of the machine and then the results become read by the doctor to tell if the patient had the concussion. The imaging tests operate with one hundred percent accuraccy and one hundred percent effective. With all of the testing and symptoms and much more all of these concussion have prevention techniques to stop concussions.

Concussions come with a bad rap and they deserve the bad rap that they have. A concussion would be an injury that someone would not want to receive if the person could avoid it. Many of the symptoms of concussions cause a lot of pain and even some of the symptoms can send the person to the hospital. Also with concussions the injury will take the participant out of participating in sports, activities and even going to school. Not participating in school would hurt because the student did not obtain the notes for the new lesson or even take a major test. With a concussion injury the injury just not only hurts in sports but also hurts someone with academics. Different tests used by doctors can come at a cost too. MRI and CT scans cost an arm and a leg to have testing and if the patient does not have the right insurance the patient may have to pay out of pocket. But, with Impact Testing at high schools the schools luckily provide the tests for free. With the Impact Test patients do not have to pay ridiculous prices to know if the person has a concussion. The Impact Test will tell that trainer or physician that the athlete has a concussion without the high prices of an MRI or CT scan. With multiple concussions a disease can develop from multiple concussions. The disease will make the person go insane and lose mass of his or her brain. The disease also may cause the person to go

At this point in time, there is not enough evidence to answer the question of how successful the NFL concussion protocol is. The statistics regarding concussion incidences in the NFL provides outsiders with inconsistent data. There is no clear pattern of steady increasing or decreasing rates over the course of multiple seasons. These results seemed to support the evidence that not all concussion present the same way. This variation in clinical presentation might be an explanation as for why some seasons had a drop in concussion rates. Even though a player might not show drastic signs of a concussion such as loss of consciousness or changes in gait, it should not be assumed that the player has not sustained an…

Concussions in football players is a growing problem all the way from pee-wee league to the professionals in the National Football League. “A concussion causes temporary loss of brain function leading to cognitive, physical and emotional symptoms, such as confusion, vomiting, headache, nausea, depression, disturbed sleep, moodiness, and amnesia,” written by Joseph Nordqvist (par. 2).…

Concussions cause the dangerous disease CTE that has already claimed the lives of many athletes in the NFL and in other sports. We are doing research on CTE but a lot more needs to be done. If the NFL is going to be safer they need to relinquish all of their information and research on player brain injuries. Some good things are being done to rule changes to make the game safer, but it is still not enough. There is a fine line however between changing rules and changing the game, which the NFL will have to navigate carefully. One of the better answers to these brain injuries is to improve the helmet protecting the head. Many developers have made ingenious new ideas to combat the concussion epidemic in football. It is up to the NFL to adopt the new innovations to the football helmet to drastically improve player safety. A person’s brain is the most important part of the body. It just makes sense to want to protect it as much as possible. As the public becomes more aware of the dangers football has on a player’s brain people may reconsider playing football. If the NFL is going to have a future, they must make their game safer. If people see less players effected by concussions on TV public perception of football will improve. Something clearly needs to be done to combat these serious health problems facing current and past NFL…

“Heading is when a player propels the ball using their head”(Sports Definitions). “There are four main types of heading that occur in the game – the defensive header, used to clear the ball from the defensive area; the glancing header, used as a “pass” to advance the ball; the flick-on header which uses the back of the head to direct the ball; and the dramatic diving header, used to attack or to score a goal” (Pimlott). With each of these types of headers in soccer each one must be properly learned otherwise there will be a greater chance of risk and harm to players.. If players are taught the proper and basic fundamentals of soccer then they will be able to safely head a ball. When players…

Coaches play a huge role in concussion prevention as they are the ones with the authority to pull an athlete if symptoms appear. However, even though they must go through the concussion training course, many still do not know the major risks of the brain injury, especially with football providing such large collisions to the head. More thorough training is needed to show them the true risks, teaching the importance of concussion precautions and why they cannot tell a kid to shake it off and keep playing. It would be beneficial to teach the coaches the long term effects of a concussion as well, making them realize how brutal the injury actually is, and that players do not always fully recover from it. The signs are another important factor for coaches to know so they can determine whether to pull an athlete out of the game. During the training, they must be informed of the visible brain injury symptoms such as appearing dazed, losing consciousness, and must analyze the eyes for crossing, limited movement, or pupil constriction (“Symptoms”). Symptoms such as headache, confusion, dizziness, ringing ears, or blurry vision should also be known in case the athlete mentions having any after a blow to the head or body. Last, the coach must have a concussion plan, knowing what to do in a situation where…

You would also have to get your Nervous System checked. If you have an concussion there’s a possible chance that your pupils size, thinking ability, coordination, and reflexes can change during the process. There are other tests that may be involved such as a, EEG (brain wave test), Head CT scan, and a MRI of the brain. After all of your exams/tests if your diagnose with a concussion you would be treated by how bad your concussion is. If your concussion is a badly case of bleeding to the brain and swelling you would have to have surgery to treat. But if it is a mild concussion you would be treated as no sports, medication, rest, and silence around yourself.…

Wonderopolis.org says that sports, like football, have rules that do not let kids on the field for a week after suffering a concussion (Wonderopolis, 4). Concussions are not serious unless they are treated poorly so it is the parent's job too to keep their own kids safe from further brain injuries. Wonderopolis, org also says “ One thing that doctors keep an eye on, though, is multiple concussions” (Wonderopolis, 3). This is evidence saying one concussion is not serious unless kids go through multiple concussions which will not happen because parents should recognize symptoms before they go back onto the field. All in all, concussions can be easily treated if parents/guardians are smart enough to prevent them from getting more than one…
