Healthcare in the United States Vs. Great Britain Tyra Baruti Kaplan University

The healthcare system in the United States and Britain are different and many in ways. The purpose of the healthcare system should be to satisfy the needs and preferences of the individual patient who are ill but many countries have a different approach. One of the biggest differences in the two healthcare systems is that in the U.S healthcare is considered private; on the other hand Great Britain has a universal healthcare system. Healthcare is funded and provided for individuals in many countries all over the world. The different structures in each system can be an advantage or a disadvantage and can sometimes be complex. Many critics have debated the issue of health care for centuries but not one country has yet built a system that has not one complaint.
Great Britain has had a universal healthcare system since the birth of the National Health Service (NHS) in 1948. The birth of the NHS has resulted in healthcare being provided to the population free and fairly. Great Britain has a healthcare system that has a single payer which is the federal government and is funded by taxpayers. Even though health insurance is free the citizens still have the option of choosing a private insurer like Americans. According to a recent article in the Times Magazine Its citizens have a longer life expectancy and lower infant mortality than U.S citizens. (Harell, 2009).
There are many differences amongst the two countries, unlike Great Britain the United States healthcare system is considered private. In Great Britain the healthcare system provides universal care for its population. Despite the U.S healthcare system being private, federal and state agencies are increasingly involved in U.S. health care spending. It was found
