According to me while planning healthy and safe indoor and outdoor environments and services, there are various factors which should be taken into consideration. Most important is that before starting any learning activity, whether its indoor or outdoor we should always make sure that the environment is free of any hazards and that children will be able to work safely. As there are some special children with different needs so we need to consider their requirements as well.
When planning healthy and safe indoor environments and services, the factors which are to be taken in account are as follows:-
* Pre-assessment of the room
Before starting any learning activity in the class room we should make sure that is free of any hazards. It should be organised safely with sufficient space for all the students so that they can move around comfortably. Make sure that chairs are tucked under the tables properly and are of appropriate size for the age of children so that they can work without any difficulty. In addition all the electrical wiring should be in satisfactory condition, and all the cabinets and cupboards should be secured. * Temperature control
Room temperature should be maintained according to the weather. During summer there should be availability of fans and in winter there should be provision of room heaters. So that students can concentrate on their learning without worrying about heat or cold. * Equipment
We should make sure that all the equipment is in excellent working condition, organised properly and stored safely so that it does not present a hazard. Drawers and storage should be clearly marked so it is clear where different equipment is kept and students can find it easily. * Ventilation
Classroom should be properly ventilated. It should be spacious and airy with adequate number of windows and doors. We
