    External quality indicators are used by government agencies, third party payers and consumers to define a quality hospital stay (Kelly, 2011). The external indicators relevant to consumers for TWH include; overall patient satisfaction with hospital stay, infection rates for surgeries and patient satisfaction with nursing care. When facilities explore the concept of quality, there is usually reference to particular clinical data that has been collected and eventually analyzed over a certain period of time. This involves a type of quality measurement and it has been found that different groups and agencies may have their own way to determine and report clinical outcomes.
