Your Hearing Aid Fitting Appointment and What to Expect
When it comes to your hearing aid fitting appointment it is important to know and understand what you should expect. Knowing what to expect can help to ease those jitters, especially if this is your first hearing aid. So let’s go over what you can expect during your hearing aid fitting appointment.
• Viewing. When you first go in for your appointment with your hearing health professional you will view your new hearing aid. You and your hearing health professional will ensure they have the correct hearing aid model and style for you. If you have any questions about how your hearing aid looks or what the components are, feel free to discuss these with your hearing specialist.

Next, your hearing health professional will go over how to properly and safely clean your hearing aid with the tools that are provided to you by the manufacturer. Yes, there most definitely is a right and wrong way to clean your hearing aids. You will also be given a booklet from the manufacturer that will also tell you and/or show you with pictures how to properly clean your hearing aids.
• Storing. Your hearing health professional will them show you and advise you on how to properly store your hearing aids. You should also make sure to store your hearing aids in a safe place, such as the carrying case that is provided to you by the manufacturer. This case has a hard outer shell which will protect the hearing aid from foreign elements as well as from being crushed or damaged otherwise.
• Battery. Next, you will be shown and instructed on how and when to change the battery in your hearing aid. Be sure to play close attention as this can be a lifesaver out in public. You will also have instructions on how to do this in the booklet that is provided to you by the manufacturer. If you have to charge your hearing aid in a docking station your hearing health professional will instruct you and show you how to do that as
