The Joys of Motherhood.

Describe the gender (male or women) as featured in the toys of motherhood Now on times we still have difficultness on comprehend the acceptance of status relative to gender. In the Joys of Motherhood, Nnu Ego and her husband in few words they give up everything just to give the benefit of an education to their sons. Daughters were looked as an investment. So, they hope would marry and bring good prices of money to the table. Nnu Ego realized that part of the pride of motherhood was to look a little unfashionable to be able to drawl with joy.
In the society, if the mother is not mature enough to raise the child, a close female relative takes on the role of the mother: whereas, the man has the option of choosing to claim the child and take on the responsibilities of fatherhood or he can imply that the father could be anyone, which is socially accepted. In the other hand feminist maintain that motherhood as constructed by patriarchy is highly oppressive. It has been very important to contest the point of patriarchy that happiness come only through motherhood and attack this myth, which denies women their ranges of possibilities and opportunities.
In addition, the sanctity of motherhood is accepted only when acknowledged by matrimony. The man made society commands that motherhood is valid only within the bounds of marriage. Motherhood, as “rewarded” to women by men, only serves to hamper the progress of both women and their children. . The social responsibility of the caring of children lies entirely on the mothers and they are expected to devote their time and their entire self on their children.
Nnu Ego is frustrated. They can hardly afford the children they have, yet Nnaife keeps fathering more children and demanding more wives. Yet Okpo is a good girl, and has the same traditional values that Nnu Ego has, so their relationship is a good one, almost like that of a mother and daughter. Nnaife

“It is possible, reading standard histories, to forget half the population of the country. The explorers were men, the landholders and merchants men, the political leaders men, the military figures men, the very invisibility of women, the overlooking of women, is a sign of their submerged status,” stated in Chapter Six of Howard Zinn’ s famous book, A People’s History of the United States. As Zinn has stated in the quote, women and their achievements in history have been rarely mentioned in society which is the sign of treating women as inferior subjects. Treating women as inferior has started since from the day Christopher Columbus had brought his people to his claimed land which later became America. The idea of patriarchy was brought along…

1st Essay Since the beginning of history, women have been commended on their natural ability to nurture and their ability to not only nurture children, but everything they take interest in. Unfortunately their interests have always been limited. The fact of this is: it is society that has carried the trend of the mother being the nurturer and the father being the worker. While this may be daunting to many women, it is not a required fact of life. Women can be the people working while the men are at home nurturing. This old tradition acts as another “phantom” women must surmount in order for them to become prominent figures in the workplace.…

The idea of freedom is something in today’s society that people like to place on a pedestal and praise because without freedom, there is nothing. Freedom is considered intrinsic to life, and in the play The Trojan Women written by Euripides and The Joys of Motherhood written by Buchi Emecheta it shows how without freedom it takes a severe negative effect on people’s lives. In the play The trojan Women it captures how tragedy has stuck the lives of the Trojan women Hecuba, Cassandra, Andromache, and Helen. Their city is destroyed, their husbands, brothers, and sons are killed, and nothing from their previous life is left.…

First, let us examine this statement ‘Many people believe that women make better parents than men and that this is why they have greater role in raising children in most societies. Others claim that men are just as good as women in parenting are’ from the light of history. In the beginning of time when Man has separated themselves from God by transgression, He has declared that Man must work to earn his living whilst the woman will be the homemaker. This is the ‘foundation’ etched into the minds of Man since and has passed from generation to generation up to today. We could see this in approximately every tribe, race, community, societies, and even entire nations. Sadly, we could also see the travesty of this harmonious ‘way of life’, by Man itself. Women are taking to the streets, replacing men in their work and careers – to prove and have proven that they can be superior to men. This is not wrong per say, but it is not right either, unless the woman’s main priority still lies with the wellbeing of her family.…

    Women as Parents

According to some scientific researches, children who can't find their fathers make one up or appropriate one to their liking, whether or not they call him "Daddy." It is not only when they can’t find their father, but even when they feel that their father is not behaving like the way they want them to behave. Many people believe that women are better parents than men, as women have carried the baby for 9 months and are able to care for it in a superiorly way than men, because men would not have got the so called ‘mother instinct’. This instinct is necessary, because it usually tells mothers what to do when dealing with their kid. While this may seem correct in the first place, it isn’t necessarily so. There are a lot of men who are careful and are able to care for their own children too, as all people have a ‘protective instinct’. Nevertheless, women usually have more patience for their children, as they care for them every day. So, we could state that women are better parents than men.…
