1. How does this position help the HR function become a strategic partner of the Organization?

This position manages all operational aspects of the human resources information process, including timely and accurate processing, reporting, analysis and documentation of HR data, HRIM security and the implementation and co-ordination of associated processes, procedures and technologies. It increases the productivity of the labor force and thereby the profitability of the organization. It also enables the organization to make effective use of their Human Resource Information System to handle daily administrative HR tasks. It also promotes the ownership of the organization by involving the Human Resource in Human Resource System Development that is supportive of business strategy development and implementation. The position also enables a good strategic partnership relationship between the organizational strategy and the human resources. The position also requires the knowledge and information required to formulate, implement and review organizational strategies thereby deciding to become a knowledge organization.

2. From the position description, identify the traditional, transactional, and transformational HR activities that this position is involved with.

The traditional activities of HRIS is generally administrative and common to all organizations. Organizations may have formalized selection, evaluation, and payroll processes. Ensure security of HRIS and time and attendance system. Traditional activities involve HR programs such as planning, recruiting, selection, training, compensation, and performance management. Transactional activities are the routine bookkeeping tasks—for example, changing an employee’s home address or health care provider— whereas transformational activities are those actions of an organization that “add value” to the consumption of the firm’s product or service.
