Hernando De Soto Research Paper
Hernando de Soto was a conquistador that lived in Spain in the 16th century. De Soto explored and helped conquer places like Peru, North America, and East Asia.
Personal background Hernando de Soto was a 16th century explorer that was born 1500 a.d. in Jerez de los Caballeros, Spain and died on May 21st, 1542 in Ferriday, Louisiana. When de Soto was a child he wanted to be a lawyer but his father said he would much rather be an explorer. Hernando was invited by Pedro Arias Dávila on an expedition to the West Indies in 1514. Pedro also paid for Hernando’s college education at the University of Salamanca. Impact When Hernando got there they didn’t / wouldn’t think that they would bring disease.
