With his determination and persistence, Charlemagne became one of the most dignified rulers of the early middle ages.…
Beowulf was a hero and a remarkable, successful leader because he was courageous, willing to put others first, and loyal. He was a venerable king because of his actions. If Beowulf had not experienced these things, he would not have become the leader he…
Alexander the Great was a powerful and wise military leader. His knowledge of the battle field led him to many victories; yet many of his battles ended very bloody for both sides. However, he did this for the good of his people and empire. Alexander the Great is the “great” king and military leader that many people perceive him as because he is wise, merciful, and willing to learn about different cultures.…
Alexander the Great was, in many ways, an amazing ruler. He was not afraid to take a chance on someone or something that everyone else had given up on, and he was prepared to risk his safety to help his men. Alexander also proved to his men that he was strong and that he was prepared to die for his cause.…
There were many great kings throughout history, but one of the greatest kings in world’s history was King Henry, he was part of the Tudor family. King Henry was best known for having six wives, building the Anglican Church and his radical changes to the England Constitution. King Henry ruled England for 36 years.…
Perseus, is an Olympian god/human. He was remembered for many things, but is remembered for decapitating the head of Medusa. Medusa was the "bad guy" and because Perseus killed her, he is considered a true hero. However, Perseus has done many other hero quality things, such as saving Andromeda. He was a great man…
To be quite honest before this lesson I had always held the assumption that Alexander The Great was similar to that of Caesar; mainly in the sense that he was a general who gained power through conquest. Yet, to my surprise, I now know that Alexander was infact the son of a king, Phillip the second. Knowing this, I now view this discussion question a bit differently. There is no doubt that Alexander The Great was infact an influence character in history, but I wager his father deserves more credit than what common history gives him. The empire Alexander created both militarily and politically would, in my opinion, never occurred with the earlier conquest, and alliances his father set up. Simply put, the military and resources Alexander needed to begin his trek across the known world to the Greeks would have never happened without the alliances with the other powers Philip the second secured through political married and then latter conquest. Alexander very well could have amassed a military through the ways his father did, but the point is he did not have to do that in the beginning. Naturally, he would recruit new members to the military with ever conquest, but I believe saying this to answer a question on how Alexander created his empire’s army would be trival. However, the question itself is dually worded. The empire's military, as least for the beginning part of its creation would have been allotted to Alexander through what his father archived.…
Oliver Cromwell could be seen as a hero because he created a stronger army for England which gave them a more effective fighting force. He said that he didn’t want power to himself which can be seen as a good thing. He also bought peace to England as he ended the English Civil war by winning it. He conquered Jamaica which led to the start of the British Empire. This was very important because it started England’s rise to power. Cromwell was responsible for the execution of King Charles, which could be a positive thing because the King started the civil war and did several other things which he could not have been forgiven for.…
Alexander the Great should be remembered as a hero because he conquered many lands. While expanding his empire, he came across the cultures of Egypt, Persia, Africa, and India. He became allies with Greece and parts of the African culture. Alexander had conquered over 70 cities while expanding. Alexander first conquered Egypt then Persia.…
Certainly, people can argue both ways and support their arguments from evidence in the reading. According to our views, Odysseus is definitely one of, if not the one, ideal hero of the ancient Greek world.…
In my thesis statement, I mentioned that Herodotus was famous and good about both the Greek military history and the Greek cultural history. I analyzed and interpreted what I read on the articles and books that I used while preparing the paper. So, I declared that Herodotus is valuable for both the Greek military history and the Greek cultural history. Do I have to choose only one of them to compare it with another one, and make one of them win at the end of the paper?…
Ezra, an Israelite loyal to God of the Hebrews, lived in captivity in Persia under the rule…
Herod the Great is one of the most important characters in Jewish history. He was ambitious, cruel and paranoid to be sure, but, nevertheless, he remains a very significant person in the terms of understanding the period of Roman domination of the Jewish people.…
With so much going on back in 1850’s, especially the biggest issue was slavery. We tend to only think that adults were only slaves but forgot that children who were African American were also slaves too that were being put to work just like their parents. Anthony S. Parent, Jr. and Susan Brown Wallace both teamed up to collaborate studying the issue of children and slavery which is the untold story of the children during the times on slavery and their knowledge of sex. After reading the studies of their work, it was very shocking and surprising that little attention was brought up among the children during the slavery time. It was devastating to hear such treatment happening to poor innocent children who were born into slavery. The purpose was to expose the truth about how much children as slaves knew about sex and things related to the issue. Which proved that children who grew up as slaves knew very little about the matter and never had a clue about things of that nature.…
