Hetsroni’s and Tukachinsky’s purpose for this article was to examine cultivation of television programming and its effects on how viewers see the world. They wanted to see the extent of cultivation by gauging the range of accurate and inaccurate estimations of the television world and the real world. Thus, giving them a clearer picture of how television can cultivate the way we think.
Describe the way literature was used in the article either in the literature review section or otherwise. Hetsroni and Tukachinsky started their literature review by breaking down preceding scholarly journals. They broke down how previous studies of cultivation effects in television that were done had flaws in their methods. It wasn’t done to diminish the work's importance, but it was appreciated because it helped ease us into their work. It gave us clarity and insight as to why they went about their study in the manner they did it. After a flaw was talked about there was an in-text citation right there to refer back. The article as a whole was easy to navigate when you take into account the number of sources cited in the text. …show more content…
