Hey You Matter T-Shirt Case
Here is the Hey You Matter T-Shirt Mock-Ups with the cost breakdown listed. The adult shirts pictured are a tri-blend and the kids shirt is cotton. They didn’t have a color that would match the adult versions, so I used the royal blue for the mock-up. The other option is a dark navy that I will include a picture of.

The quoted prices ($12-14 for adult & $10-12 for kids) are for printing on the front and back with two colors. The variation in cost is due to the fact that final per shirt cost depends on the quantity ordered, because the set up fee is a set price of $20 per color. The listed prices are for quantities between 25-49. Their price breaks start at quantities of 50 and above. A minimum order of 25 is required.

Founded in 1902, JC Penney is one of America’s leading retailers, operating more than 1,000 department stores throughout the United States and Puerto Rico, as well as offering products online and through catalogs. In January 2012, Johnson was recruited by J.C. Penney investors and left the United States’ second-most-valuable company, Apple, to join the J.C. Penney. He wanted a new challenge. CEO Ron Johnson introduced a plan to rebrand the department store J.C. Penney. The plan was involved and would completely restructure the department store as America knows it. Clear objectives were set. A plan was put into practice that would initiate a three-tiered pricing structure and remove all sales and promotions. A new logo was created. Stores were to be completely redesigned, and turned into 100 mini-stores within each J.C. Penney. Unfortunately, the plan was executed sloppily and J.C. Penney took a 25% loss in just one year. Ron Johnson was fired after only 17 months. J.C. Penney is now searching for a way to survive.…

Any company’s assets are either financed by its debt or by its equity. The Weighted Average Cost of Capital is the average costs of these sources of financing, each of which is weighted by its respective use in the given situation. By taking the weighted average, we can see how much interest the company has to pay for every dollar it finances. Basically, the WACC is the minimum required return that the company must earn to satisfy its creditors, owners, and other providers of capital, or they will invest in another company that has higher returns. In this case, I will first address the issues with Cohen’s calculation, and then analyze an new WACC to decide whether we should invest in Nike Inc.…

George Lassiter is a project engineer for a major defense contractor and also an entrepreneur who manufactures and designs special events T-shirts. He has owned this lucrative T-shirt business for six years and designed T-shirts for “special events” such as rock concerts, major sporting events, and special fund-raising events, provided cleverly designed, well-produced, and reasonably priced products. His product was not endorsed by event sponsors. He sold the shirts to his regular crew of vendors for $100 per dozen, and these vendors sold the public for $10 per shirt. Apart from this he was distributing his products on surrounding streets and parking lots. He wanted to sell his shirts on a rock concert that was going to be held in two months. He was sure that 20,000 tickets for the standing area around the stage would be bought by devoted fans, he was not sure of the number of people who will attend the concert, and the percentage of the attendees who will buy the shirts.…

    Tattoo Case

When John came home from the tattoo parlor with his brand new ink his parents were both infuriated. John’s parents are two world renown cosmetic surgeons, who deal with patients who have regretted their decision to get a tattoo everyday. They know how painful it is to have them removed because of how the ink is injected into the dermis, which is the inner layer of the skin that contains blood vessels and nerve endings. This caused John to grow very nervous about his tattoo and he made the decision to have it removed the next day. When he told his parents about the decision they told him that he must wait 4-8 weeks for the epidermis, which is the outer layer of the skin that protects the blood vessels and all that is contained in the dermis, to fully heal. When 5 weeks passed John’s mother and father examined John’s tattoo to see if his epidermis has healed appropriately. It was obvious that the skin had healed because John made sure to not swim or be out in the sun for the entire 5 weeks. The two parents decided that they would remove it themselves at their hospital. When they arrived at the office the mom decided that she would deal with the tattoo so…

For dress jerseys, our overage cost is significantly less than underage cost (by $9.20/unit). Currently the mean demand is 64,405 but the optimal quantity is 87,532. To avoid incurring the high underage cost for dress jerseys, we should increase inventory for these units. For dressed jerseys, critical fractile or service level is 77.06%. This is higher than that of blank jerseys because overage costs associated with dressed jerseys are significantly less. For optimal order quantity for each player, please refer to exhibit 2.…
