Approximately 6 six years ago, I was caught in a difficult situation involving a possible Vulnerable Adult case. As the advocate for my consumer, I felt obligated to report the suspicions that were evident. As a supervisor, I must follow protocol and the chain-of-command in the organization. I found myself between a rock and a hard place.…
| Most Medicare recipients fall within the vulnerable population, due to age, disability or both. Most live on limited resources and struggle with managing their financial needs. When a person is unable to meet their daily living expenses, such as paying for rent, utilities, and food, healthcare needs usually become low on the priority list. Making medications more affordable should be a priority to assist the patient with obtaining their medications, managing his or her health, and reducing the need for hospitalization and readmission rates.…

The number of health care services people use determines health care utilization. John Q is facing a situation that is far too common these days. He is in need of health care services; however, factors John Q has a full-time job thus because of his low income he is qualified to have Medicaid. Medicaid is a resource used by many it is a government program which helps with health finances. The only down fall of using a government plan such as Medicaid if your income goes up then a premium plan will kick in. example if John makes $250.00 every two weeks then monthly his income would be $500.00 this is considered low income based. If John’s income was to go up by $250.00 then he would have to pay…

“Beneficiaries must be low-income and meet certain resource standards.” (“Medicaid: A…”). In order to qualify the people have to follow certain requirements. The groups this program covers are considered medically needy (“Medicaid”). Those who are considered that have to show their income and how many children they have. This is so the program can help those who really need the help and have no other alternative. The requirements needed aren’t too much to ask for which makes it easy for anyone to apply. According to Paradise, the percent of children enrolled in the program is 48%. This shows that children are most likely to get coverage for any medical needs. If children are covered then it can help the rest of the family to become eligible if needed. As a result, the program has lowered the number of death rates and increased the number of healthier people (Johnson). By making eligibility easier and affordable many people in the nation have benefited…
In order for this program to work, the government can allow individuals to enroll into the group using a tax credit which would allow families to enroll using a tax credit if they qualify by making up to 200% of the federal poverty line (Weil, 2001). This will help to filter out individuals who make more money and save on funding costs. To keep costs down on providing care to families within the government 's health insurance, states should provide annual reports on enrollment numbers and how funds are used, this will also help to keep the cost of care down (LA & M, 2007).…
The Medicaid program is for the indigent families. It’s a program put together by the state and federal government. Being indigent does not necessarily qualify you for Medicaid. Medicaid is the biggest source of funding for medical health services for people with no or limited income. Having limited assets is one of the primary requirements for Medicaid eligibility. Medicaid does not provide all medical assistance for all poor persons (Shi & Singh, 2008). Even under provisions of the federal statute, the Medicaid program does not give services unless you are in a certain group. There are many numbers of Medicaid categories; within each group there are requirements other than income that must be met. These other things include, but not limited to, assets, age, pregnancy, disability, blindness, income and resources, and one’s status as a U.S citizen. Medicaid is jointly financed by the states and the federal government, and is administered by the states within broad federal guidelines. The Medicaid program is monitored by the centers for Medicare and Medicaid (Komar, 2007).…
Over the course of Quarter, I composed more than a few FRQs. Throughout my many in-class essays, I learned not only about rhetorical analysis, but also some tendencies I have as a writer. In all four of my essays, the most prominent trend I exemplified was a lack of focus on certain pieces of my analysis. Often, I would provide a strong analysis of certain evidence, but then would begin to stray from my original point. Occasionally, my sentences proved nothing, such as when I wrote that, “This major depiction of the two vastly different sides of the soldier’s lives makes the men seem more real and human”. Another pattern that was prevalent in my FRQs was writing one or two sentences that seemed clumsy or awkward to the reader. One such sentence…
My hub placement for "Ongoing Healthcare Needs" was with an elderly female rehabilitation ward. For this reflective piece I am going to write about a situation I encountered on that ward. I will be following "John's model of structured reflection" as a basis to structure this document.…

In terms of my high school experience, I am looking for a school that will assist me in the further development of collaborative as well as independent studies. GFS seems to have all of these qualities. For example, when I visited GFS I saw a community that is always supportive of any goal that a student might have in life and provide a foundation for that goal to be realized while also inspiring excellence in everything else that a student might become involved during high school years. I play lacrosse, compete in diving, and am an active dancer. GFS has an excellent lacrosse team which can help support me in terms of going forward in the goal to become a better lacrosse player while still pushing me to do the best I can in all of my other…
