Hieroglyphics: The Rosetta Stone

The Rosetta Stone was one of the most important finds in history. But what if it was never discovered? We would've never cracked the code of Hieroglyphics, therefore we wouldn't have any knowledge of Egyptian life at all. Imagine how history could've changed if we never found it. Hieroglyphics was the key find that came out of the Rosetta Stone, because it led to so many other discoveries after we cracked the code of it. We used the Greek written onto the stone to decipher the Hieroglyphics. Champollion was the one who decoded them, and it made it even more exciting to know that when he was younger it was his dream to unlock the key to hieroglyphics. They found it while constructing Fort St. Julien which was located n Ancient Rosetta. He
came to the realization that Egyptians used different types of hieroglyphic signs, some were phonetic while others were determinatives. "In 1822, Champollion published his first paper about the stone. In it, he explained his theory and examined many other names from the same period of Egyptian history. Without the knowledge of Hieroglyphics that we discovered using the Rosetta Stone, we would have no knowledge of Egypt at all. This would occur because there are hieroglyphics on more than half of the large finds that have to do with Egypt, such as The Great Pyramids of Giza, The Sphinx, and all of the tombs within these amazing finds. The Rosetta Stone gave us great access into figuring out all about Egyptian life as well as their amazing architecture. Within their architecture there were hieroglyphics which told tales of past pharaohs, their gods, and day to day Egyptian life. Without the Rosetta Stone and the translation it provides, we wouldn't be able to know about the Egyptians at all. We would've know they existed but nothing else because we wouldn't have the knowledge of the language. The Rosetta Stone was a real game changer for history, most people are very grateful for it. We gained so much information just by the discovery of the stone, such as how the Egyptians the Nile river for things like farming and just as their main water source. Also their religion or form of worship is also something we found out thanks to the finding of the stone. It is safe to say that most people would think that the way history actually turned was better than the alternative of us not finding it at all. It provided us with important links to Egypt and how it functioned. Without it we wouldn't have found out the stories and hieroglyphics in the Great Pyramids of Giza. Where would we be without the Rosetta Stone? Without it we would have no knowledge on Egypt at all. History would have totally changed without this discovery. We are grateful to whoever wrote it and are glad that Champollion found it when he did. History went on the right path when the Rosetta Stone was found. Without it we could've lost all knowledge on Egyptian life. We never would've decoded hieroglyphics or solved the mysteries of ancient Egypt. I can't even begin to imagine how much history would've changed without it's helpful translation.
