High School Controversy
My parents always taught me to stand up for the underdog in every situation. There once was a time where I applied that, and stood up for a fellow student who was being bullied. This incident happened during my junior year of high school. It was in HOPE class which is basically gym class, but my school doesn’t have a gym so we had to exercise outside in the field. Every three weeks we started a new segment on a different sport. The incident occurred during our segment on soccer. There was this obnoxious student named Nick, who played soccer competitively outside of school. He was very serious about the sport, while the rest of us were just trying to have a good time and get a good grade in the class. One day, in early spring, we were playing and he had the ball. This bigger student named Ben was chasing after the ball. Nick was a relatively short and skinny person, while Ben was much taller and all-around bigger. They were on opposing teams. From what I saw, it looked like Nick shot for the goal, only to be accidentally run into by Ben. Now, Ben wasn’t …show more content…
I’m not as big as the Hulk or anything, but compared to Nick I’m much bigger muscle-wise and size-wise, so something tells me he still wouldn’t do it again. All I said was that he would regret doing it again, which he probably would have. No matter what I said or how I said it, I still stayed true to my personal values and stood up for the underdog, which, if presented with a similar situation, I would most definitely do again. I feel that this experience demonstrated my good character in a positive way. I stood up for a fellow student, put a bully in his place, and don’t regret a single thing about it. Most importantly, I stood by my morals and beliefs and stayed true to myself, which is always the best thing to do in every

There was an older adult that told them to stop arguing and pick up the food. They then argued over who should pick it up. So, I came over and asked them, who was going to be the bigger person and they both raced to pick it up first. This showed how these students wanted to be treated like adults. If I had not connected with these students earlier I may not have been able to resolve this situation. This displays how important it is for young children to have a mentor or role model to talk and engage with. Through the various interactions I have had with students thus far, I have learned to be humble and grateful, and to connect with people because there is so much to learn from others.…

Throughout majority of my high school life, I always questioned why things operated the way they did. Being forced to go to a place, or my parents could possibly go to jail. To be honest it sort of felt like a indoctrination. Going there I noticed everything was controlled and different social groups where created based on different peoples personalities. The irony of it all is that from a young age school seemed to indorse individuality, yet hypocritical policies such as school uniforms still took place later in the years.…
