September 30, 2014 High Tech Trash How many high tech items does each family have in their homes? The average family has at least six high tech items their households. These items include cell phones, computers, games systems and much more. Many families take advantage of newer versions of these high tech items. Instead of keeping the old items and buying the new ones, families partake of something called e-waste. E-waste is old electronic waste. There are many effects of e-waste such as sickness, identity, pollution. The first way e-waste can effect people is by sickness, the process of burning the trash can cause people to become sick. Women who are expecting can inhale the toxic chemicals that inside of the devices, and it may cause harm or danger to the unborn. All these problems are coming from all of the smoke that is being released from burning the trash.
