Our body is formulated of billions nerve cells or neuron. Neuron is an electrical signal that transmit and translate messages from our spinal cord to our brain. They are nerve impulses that carries messages from one part of the body to another. Our brain has three main structure the Hindbrain that found at the lower part of the brain. You can find it at the rear base of the skull. At Hindbrain there is medulla oblongata that helps regulate many involuntary activities such as breathing, heart rate and blood pressure. It controls our muscle that we used in dynamic activities of the body such as biting, ingesting, sneezing, coughing and salivation. Within the medulla is reticular formation that plays a critical role in alertness, arousal and allowing a person to focus his attention. If reticular formation is damage it can result in coma. Cerebellum or little brain, is two hemisphere at the topmost part of …show more content…
Next structure is Midbrain, the smallest part of our brain. It is responsible in our hearing and vision. It is the place where pain is inscribe. And the last structure is Forebrain where the highest part of the brain. It fills the one-half of the cavity of the skull. It is responsible for behavior and mental life of an individual. The forebrain has division, the diencephalon and telencephalon or cerebrum. Diencephalon has two parts the thalamus and hypothalamus. Thalamus is responsible for translating incoming messages from the sensory receptor except for the sense of smell. While hypothalamus is the center of the brain that govern our hunger, thirst and sexual
