With the birth of his two younger siblings and with his two older step siblings moving in, the Hitler family now lived on a crowded little farm. Hitler’s father had now retired and was now spending more time at home. With the noise all the little children made and without his work to escape to, Alois’s anger grew harsher toward the children. Adolf older brother Alois Jr. found himself bearing the brunt of the father’s anger and choose to run away from the farm at the age of 14 never to return. With Alois Jr. gone Adolf now found himself as the target of his father’s anger, along with losing his mother’s attention with her now focusing on his young siblings.
The family eventually moved off the farm to the town of Lambach, Austria. This was the first of several moves the family would make due to the restless retirement of Hitler's father.
