Many historians believe the reason that Hitler came to power was because of his ability to publicly speak confidently. Although Hitler was an outstanding orator, he had other abilities and he had other events that favored him. Historian Robert G.L. Waite says “the other political parties and politicians, rather than Hitler and the Nazis, were most responsible for his coming to power” (Waite). No party did anything to stop Hitler in becoming the chancellor of Germany. Each of them were trying to acquire Hitler and hope he would go on their side. Some historians say that crisis’ in 1930 aided Hitler to power and that his personality (or his ability to publicly speak) did not give that much of an effect towards his success of gaining power. They do not think that Hitler was given power because the people were inspired and motivated by them. It was not that easy. Political power was not just handed to him. Hitler had to do so much more in order to be given such a high status of power. Hitler had tried three different times to gain power. He first tried to gain power by coup coup d’état in 1923. Once that did not work he tried to triumph a decree by the people. But the majority did not even vote for him. At this time, the people did not trust him enough to allow him to be in charge.
