Sinh Cung grew up in Nghe An Province, Vietnam, to Nguyen Sinh Sac and Hoáng Thị Loan. In 1911, Sinh Cung found work on a steamer, and travelled to various parts of the globe. Some of the places he travelled include Africa, the United States, and Britain, until he finally settled down in France. It was here in France, 1919, that Sinh Cung gathered a group of Vietnamese Immigrants to demand that the French colonial government in Indochina be equal to the citizens, as it was to its theirs. Later in life, when Sinh Cung was 'renamed' Ho Chi-Minh, the French were seeking to re-gain control of Vietnam, but Ho Chi-Minh and his group of Vietnamese Communists decided they would rather have their country to themselves, thus inducting the First Indochina
