THE PSYCHOLOGICAL ASPECTS OF THE MOVIE HOLES:

2 Crime is amongst us in the world, but the question is why do people commit crimes we know that we should not? Imagine being falsely accused of a time you did not even commit. The next question is are we at the wrong place at the wrong time or around the wrong people? As a psychologist I know that there are proven facts that can explain why these actions take place by some people. First, the Social Cognitive Theory is one that definitely matches with the situation because Pyschologist Albert Bandura explains that how we behave, learn and even develop is affected by how we process information or obtain information (Sigelman,Rider,2015,P.44). There is another theory that ties in with this one that comes from Jean Piaget who came up with a similar theory that we gain knowledge from things we experience (Sigelman,Rider,2015,P. 204). These two theories focus on things we experience and how it alters our behavior. We also find out in the story that Zero is homeless and grew up without a mother so he face traumatic experiences alone and had to figure out wrong from right without someone telling him (Blank,Davies,Davis,& Medavoy,2003). Since he was homeless he never attended school to even learn to read, which means his ability to function and process information was not a strong point (Blank,Davies,Davis,& Medavoy,2003). When Zero got caught stealing and was sent to the behavioral camp he then experienced a consequence he would learn from , but not only would Zero learn consequences, but all of the boys at the camp would have to dig holes every day as punishment (Blank,Davies,Davis,&
