As we entered the busses outside of the airport, we were told to sit quietly and be patient for our visit to the Smithsonian was an air and space museum containing many planes and scientific evidence of a space shuttle such as Sputnik and the v-2 Rocket. Then, we were to go back in our bus and prepare ourselves to the minimal walkthrough the Holocaust Museum. This was going to be a valuable learning experience that was going to teach us about the holocaust and prevent our generation from repeating the same mistake. Afterwards, we would go to Ford’s Theatre where Abraham Lincoln. Then, we would go back to the bus and we were going to visit four memorials. These memorials were Lincoln memorial, Korean memorial, World War 2 memorial, and Iwo Jima memorial. Then we saw a movie which showed us the purpose of the building and many of the daily activities. I learned there that there was a grave arranged for George Washington to be buried there but he was buried on Mount Vernon where rightfully should have been. We jumped onto the bus afterwards and arrived at the Air and Space museum to watch a movie and explore the artifacts left there. The fast plane during the Vietnam war that could dodge bullets and radar’s rays would bounce of it. During the movie we learned about space exploration unit that was going to mars and beyond. We left there to go to the FDR memorial walk through. The walkthrough was very inspirational with quotes and many symbols such as missing rocks from the wall indicating Franklin Delenor Roosevelt's life falling apart.
