Honesty Is The Best Policy
In life I believe that honesty is the best policy and the truth will set you free always. For some people being honest and forthright is a hard battle, and some people lie constantly and it is not a good trait to develop. Some people lie day in and day out and I know that the truth always comes out. No matter how much you try and hide it. There will always be a way that someone finds out. There comes a time where no one will believe in you anymore, the trust and respect will be gone. Once you start lying so much, people will have a hard time believing and trusting you. You can lose many friends that way, you can lose your reputation. If you are not honest with yourself, how can you be honest with other people? It all starts with you and how you portray you. You can’t get away with anything you lie about. Sometimes it happens where people don’t ever find out, but somehow they can.

Always be honest, even if it means standing alone. You may also lose friends too when you are honest, and that is an indication that they weren’t your true friends to begin with. I believe in Karma, and karma bites back ever so strongly when you are not telling the truth, and when you hide something from friends and family, when you do something terrible to someone. It always bites back and more powerful. I am sure everyone in life has told a lie here or there, and I know nobody is perfect. Sometimes we lie to others to make others feel good, sometimes we fib, and make up white lies, but nothing beats honesty. If you are afraid of hurting someones feelings, don’t be. I would rather have an honest enemy telling me the truth to my face, then a fake friend who doesn’t speak up and who doesn’t tell me the truth and says terrible things behind my back. Sometimes the truth hurts and we must always be prepared for it. I would rather be hurt, then be lied to. Being lied to is far more worse than anything else in this world.

To lie or not to lie? We are often faced with this question when stuck in sticky situations. It seems as if lying is our second nature, and that is not a good thing. In the articles “Brad Blanton: Honestly Tell The Truth” by Barbara Ballinger and “Teens Do Their Share of Lying” by Loretta Ragsdell, the authors discuss lying and argue its’ justifiability. I agree with the concept that lying is never acceptable because it is morally wrong.…

I am honest. Telling the truth can be hard for people to do but not me. Telling the truth can be hard for people to hear. But it is the only way for us to better ourselves or to move past an event in our lives. I have seen the affects growing up of how my father lied to my mother and the damage that is can cause. Honesty allows us to build trust which is such an important bond that we build with our family, friends and even total strangers. As I am getting older I am realizing that honest is always the best policy but it matters on how you deliver the honesty.…

Lies are told around the world multiple times during the day. Everyone sitting in this room has probably once today, said a lie. Sometimes lying is understandable for someone’s protection but sometimes the truth is essential to the person. There are multiple things people say in a day that are seen as lies such as “That outfit looks really good on you!,” “It wasn’t me!” and “I’ll be with you in a few minutes.” Honestly is not always the best policy because in the end it does not make everything better. People tell little lies so that they protect someone they care about and not hurt the feelings of another person. Honesty not always being the best policy is showed in The Scarlet Letter, “Tell All The Truth” poem, the “He Lies” video,…

    Way We Lie

First off let me start of by saying that we lie. We all do. We exaggerate, we leave out things, we avoid confrontation, we try to be inconsideration of other people feelings, we conveniently forget some aspects of the truth and even keep secrets. Like most people, I find myself in situations of small falsehoods and still think of my self of an honest person. Sure I lie, but it’s not really bothering anyone or anything.…

In the article “Brad Blanton: Honestly Tell the Truth” he says that telling the truth can keep a relationship based on reality while also saying that lying keeps people locked their own mind. He states that. “‘ Many people think think they tell the truth, but they don’t because they withhold information. Have the courage to be honest and have a relationship with others based on reality’” (5). If people did not lie then they know that their relationships with friends are based off of facts and not manipulated information. However most relationships are not perfect and some relations might even end if everyone did not withdraw information to one another. The article also says that, “‘But it’s just as likely that you’ll end up losing people whom you don’t want around you anyway’” (15). But if people be honest to each other, they might lose people that they actually want in their lives. Being honest is good but if one is honest they are very likely to offend people and lose friendships in the end. In conclusion, Blanton says that telling the truth can help a relationship with a friend as well as saying that lying keeps people locked in their own minds however relationships can never be perfect and if people were honest they might lose their…

Most of the time it is easier to tell a lie than it is to tell the truth and there is no way that we will ever completely eliminate lying from our society, because it does make our lives so much easier. Sometimes though lying can come with consequences, and it can backfire when someone discovers that you lied. Lying can cause a situation to become worse than it would have been if the truth had been told. Take James Frey for an example. He wrote an autobiography called A Million Little Pieces and the book was featured on Oprah and put on her book club list. After a while it was discovered that parts of his autobiography were not real and he was humiliated on a national level. If he had told the truth then his book could have still been published, but as a fictional story, and he could have still been a successful author and had a bestselling book. You should always be careful with the lies you tell and who you tell them to because there’s always a chance that someone will find out and then you would be in trouble.…

    1. Sacramento State University has a strict Academic Honesty policy, which requires students to adhere to a set of guidelines when doing homework or writing an essay for any class at the University. As a student, the responsibility of following this policy is major when testing, writing, or any other homework for a class at the University. The student is responsible for all of his/her work, and making sure there is no dishonest behavior or plagiarism present when doing the work. An example of a violation would be logging on a computer, going to a site such as USAToday.com, finding an article, copying the article text word-for-word, and including that same text in your paper or essay. The opposite of that scenario would be simply complying with the policy. That would involve researching a topic, again logging onto a computer, and going to a website such as USAToday.com. After you find an article for your paper, instead of just copying the article text word-for-word, a summary would be a way to start. Once you summarize the article, break the text down in your own words, and take the vital information from the article, without plagiarizing.…

Being raised in the Capitalist system based on competition, we were taught that it was fine to tell lie. Some argued that it was fine to lie when it is a death and live matter, others may argue that it is o.k to lie if it doesn't hurt any one. On my personal level, I don't feel it is morally comfortable to lie to anyone. Because of the society we live in is filled with lies and mistrust doesn't mean we, as the newest generation should learn to lie. Instead, I want to live in a lie free life.…

I believe honesty is the best policy but if the truth will hurt some ones feeling I think sometimes lying in small circumstance would be a better choice. Personally I would prefer to be told the truth all the time, but I know a lot of people who are sensitive and they would be offended by the truth. I disagree with Immanuel Kant telling a small lie to spare…

Lying only leads to more lying. If you lie once and someone calls you out on that lie then you have to create a bigger lie. You have to adapt to that lie and understand that the lie is the truth from then on. In some cases, it is better to speak the truth in a gentle way. Such as , if a woman were to ask you if she looks fat in a dress than find her a different dress and tell them that the new dress suits her better. However, In some cases its better to speak the truth in a cold hearted way. For example, if a grotesque girl likes you at school , you can tell her she is weird and that you don’t like her or want to be friends with her.…
