Inferences are based on judging or having knowledge of something we are unsure about. Inferences are used daily, sometimes we are unaware that we are using inferences on a daily basis whether it’s reading on a person or judging a person that we just met or seen based on their looks. In the “Hostess” by Donald Mangum, I was able to understand that the woman in the short story was caring and thoughtful. The woman showed a lot of compassion towards her family. When reading the of short story, you can kind of feel her actions from the way she was speaking.
