How a person can see themselves as is an important thing. Identity is developed through experiences and cognitive processes. If a person is constantly depressed, he may have low self-esteem (1). One way a person can deal with depression is treating it with psychotherapy (1). The person can learn to see himself as a different person. Instead of being the person with low self-esteem, he can see himself as a guy that is able to become more positive. The person may think that other people always see him as someone who is always down and that can affect him in a negative way. While having depression, a person can lose interest in their friends (3) or other things in life. A depressed person may shut everyone out and refuse to let people in.
